The sound from Ella was not encouraging.
Maisie arched her back, her expression suspicious. Her friend had been dabbling in wicca, and how was Maisie to know her friend who had to be reminded of which was her left and right could actually cast a spell.
Ella had reduced her already short friend 'as a prank', and after some less than fun teasing had promised to restore her but the reversal spell didn't seem co-operative, so the budding witch had hit the books.
It had been a day, and Ella had been several promises that this would be an easy fix.
"I'm hoping that noise means something... good." Maisie muttered.
Ella took her time in responding. "Well...the good news is: this is definitely the spell that will give you your height back."
Maisie groaned, rolling her eyes. "And the bad news, Ella...?"
"Well!" Her friend chirped. "I have absolutely no idea how to cast that... I might need to visit another witch to help with this..."
The shrunken woman tried to hold her tongue. "Okay. So, let's go see her..." She said slowly.
"Yep! Only thing is that she lives... on the other side of... the country." The larger girl hoping her bubbly tone might soften the news.
Maisie just glared up at her towering companion.
Ella smiled weakly. "Road trip?"
