Would-be Thief

Ivana watched the grimaced expression on Maisie as she scampered back, the glass surface squeaking as she did. The younger brunette now reduced to a fraction of her previous size.

"Aw. Someone looks a little cranky..." The lithe woman's voice drifted from her lips, accompanied only by the whirring of her laptop.

"Did you think I didn't know about your little emails? You were in for a big payday if you'd been able to get my invention to that buyer of yours, huh?"

Maisie went to speak, but the much taller woman continued over her. "You were so close too! I had left it in my office this evening but... surprise! I was here too. Waiting."

Maisie inched towards the edge of the table, that she had been easily and unceremoniously placed upon. The device, her only hope of turning the tables was far out of reach upon Ivana's chair...

The shrunken woman knew that toppling back off the desk was likely to hurt, she stiffened and looked upon the towering Ivana. "What're you gonna do with me?" Her tone trembling but firm all the same.

Giant hands snaked towards Maisie, who inched further back in response. "Well..." Ivana's voice hung in the air just as two of her fingers took hold of Maisie's black top. "Consider yourself lucky for starters. Your entire body could have destabilized and I'd have a tiny, but far less pretty, pile of goo to clean up. Instead though... well, dolls don't need jobs, right? So consider your employment here terminated..."

Maisie winced as enormous fingers began to peel her top from her body. She groaned through gritted teeth as Ivana continued. "And we have to do something about this outfit of yours. Why don't I get you home and we find something more appropriate for a doll?"

Maisie went to protest, but Ivana just held a finger before her mouth, shushing her. "I'd play along, sweetie, lest I test the device again and find out that the first blast was just a fluke..."

The shrunken woman was silenced. How was she going to get out of this?!
