A Whole New Wardrobe

Emma hadn't even noticed Aubrey enter the room. She didn't enjoy her nosy and eccentric younger cousin at the best of times, and the older girl was getting flashbacks to irritating times when they were younger.

"Emma." Came Aubrey's voice, sounding firmer than expected. "I wanna borrow some clothes. I may or may not have a date tonight."

"I don't know if hanging out in that Final Fantasy online game really counts, you know..."

"That was like, one time!"

Emma grinned. "Sure. Anyway, the answer is 'no', the rules from when we were kids still stands. Besides, I don't think much of my wardrobe would really fit..."

Aubrey's gaze narrowed. "I remember your rules like they were yesterday, Emma. And funny. I was just thinking the same thing..."

After the initial shock of Emma's transformation, Aubrey was able to get her to comply by mentioning that she'd turn her back once she had an outfit chosen. Of course, she also hinted that she was aware of some of Emma's more extravagant online purchases... and that Emma behaving would keep Aubrey's silence.

Made to stand in the corner and watch her irritating cousin trawl through her once fitting clothes, Emma was incensed and terrified.

"Ugh. Your shoes don't fit me... and how are you supposed to wear this stuff anyway?" She regarded herself. "Hmm. What do we think?"

Emma just grinded her teeth in protest, thinking about that insane remote stashed on the wardrobe...

Aubrey caught sight of this. "Think you can reach it in time, squirt? Maybe on your tip toes?"

The raven-haired girl's laughter filled the room as she continued searching for the perfect outfit.
