Lucy groaned.
It was bad enough that she had to come crawling back to her aunt, but between her accidental reduction and the smug attitude of her much taller relative - Lucy couldn't decide which was worse.
The imposing blonde regarded the sizeably reduced woman before her. "I recall last night an apprentice witch telling me that she was more than ready for spells from the third circle. The same girl who stole one of my spellbooks from my shelf. What happened to her?"
The shrunken woman just slammed her chin into her hands, grumbling indiscernibly.
"What was that?" Prodded the older, more experienced witch. "Were you saying, 'Yes Aunt Helen, I'm very sorry for ignoring your warnings. I've ended up about the size of a first grader because I don't know what I'm doing. Can you please fix me?' Was that what that moaning was about?"
Lucy shot daggers up at the now towering blonde. "Are you going to help me or not?!"
Helen chuckled to herself. "Of course, what kind of aunt would I be if I didn't help my clumsy, inexperienced, wannabe-know-it-all niece. Looks like one of those spells really got away from you, didn't it? Before we talk fixing you though, my house is in a need of a bit of a tidy. Why don't you get it cleaned." It was not a question.
The shrunken woman wanted to scream, but settled for grinding her teeth as Aunt Helen strode past her.
"Oh, if you need help reaching any of the high shelves, I can fetch you a stool..."
Helen's laughter echoed in the backyard as she settled comfortably by the pool.
