2022-10-23 18:51:03 +0000 UTCI picked shrink ray/device, although I feel magic and tech can be interchangeable to some extent. See universal remote stories. I like tech for the tension it can build in an audience. Your use of the shrink gun in “Not a Toy” is an excellent example of this. Maisie plays around with the device not knowing what it is and gets shrunk by it multiple times, only for Jenna to enter later and also get shrunk by it. I enjoy both, but when I write, I prefer tech. I say use what you think is best for the story you want to tell.

Tech is more based in science and seems to be guided toward one purpose. Magic is more fantasy and can be used for more than one purpose (like shrinking, growing, breast expansion, muscle growth, gender change, shapeshifting, transformation. Sometimes one spell at a time. Sometimes multiple Simultaneously.)
