Sophie was feeling satisfied with herself. After the first two houses brought disappointing hauls, the girls had figured there joke of a venture might be nothing more than that. However, after some classic posturing and light taunting, Sophie had manuevered themselves into a pretty advantageous scenario. The blonde feigned politeness though as Lia padded away. "Are you sure about this? Don't want to impose."
Lia was nearly halfway down the stretch of the house, which seemed rather open plan. At the end of the room was a small dining table, and the kitchen seemed to vanish around a tight corner. "Its no trouble. Can't have two witches at my door leave without their just deserts."
The red 'witch' furrowed her brow at that. That was a pretty odd choice of words, but then again it seemed like the rumours of this woman's eccentricity weren't entirely exaggerated.
Maisie shuffled past her much taller friend and almost flopped onto the sofa, it was comfy enough, although the brunette couldn't help but feel like there was something... off about the home. The decor had a slightly strange quality, and it heightened the girl's intuition, however it could just be that Maisie thought Lia had no taste. The girl went to reach for her phone instinctively, but bemoaned not for the first time tonight the lack of pockets on her attire. She remembered they had left their phones in their respective bags of candy, among other items, and the walk over to the front door seemed so far now... especially now that Maisie was feeling comfortable.
She looked up at her red-clad friend. "Sit down. She's said its fine."
Sophie was snapped from her reverie, and almost appraised the couch before moving to take a place. She stepped over Maisie who was already dragging her small frame across the couch, easing into it. The girl was barely over five feet, and her legs hovered far off the floor.
"Getting comfortable, I see." Said Sophie teasingly.
Maisie grinned at that. "Why not? Seems like we've got pre-drinks and the snacks sorted in one hit."
Sophie leaned forward, fiddling with her heels. "If you throw up before we even get to the party, I'm not holding your hair."
Maisie laughed. "I'm not bothered. Besides you're the real risk. You'd think someone your height would be less of a lightweight."
"I can tell Sam all about New Year's Eve if you'd like?" Sophie said, her eyes narrowing, her teeth bared.
Maisie gasped playfully. "You wouldn't..."
The conversation continued, the pair almost forgetting they were sitting in a stranger's home, which made them utterly unaware as Lia found exactly what she was looking for - far from the candy and alcohol she had promised. She took hold of her faithful instrument, beaming as she did, and strode back towards the witches in her living room.
