Ariel hated this.

Her mum's work was the most boring place in the entire world, or at least it was as far as the teenager was concerned. Why did she have to get stuck being babysat by one of her mum's employees - and her of all people. The dullness of this place was only matched by the bossiness of that Ivana lady - how old was she anyway, like, forty? The CEO's daughter was a somewhat consistent presence at the workplace, and often she was left to the staff to keep an eye on; locked in meetings as the executive mother was.

All of Ariel's friends were busy. Her headphones had been forgotten and left at home. She had reopened the same three social media apps in the last two minutes.

Ugh. What was taking Ivana so long? That meeting had to have been going for at least an hour. Ariel was getting hungry. She lay into her 'babysitter's' chair, remarking to herself what a drab office this was.

There must be something in this place that was even somewhat interesting.

The girl let out a sigh, her eyes scanned to the sleeping monitor. She idly poked the keyboard and it sprung to life. There was an unopened email there that Ariel thoughtlessly clicked on - something about 'active testing being accelerated a week' - whatever that meant.

Ariel remembered; wasn't there supposed to be labs here? No longer willing to wait around for her caretaker, the boss' daughter decided to wander.
