Sophie left her two shrunken visitors behind, taking the ruler and the device with her. She didn't think the two women would have been able to utilize her invention in any meaningful way, but she had been careless enough for one day.

She stepped across the hall and opened the door to her bedroom, decorated with a few items from her overseas trips when she was younger, but also with discarded clothes and general mess. She was the type of person who could step over a heap of clothes for several days before deciding she had the time to clean them up.

Setting the ruler and the device down, she flicked the switch on her bedside lamp and moved to one of her closet doors. Inside she retrieved a box that contained a few items that belonged to her niece, some of them she had outgrown and others were still favourites of the child. There was something in here that she figured would be suitable for Jenna's request. Was it a somewhat humiliating option? Perhaps. Plus, the scientist knew she could shrink down some of her own clothes for Jenna but this was simpler than fiddling with the machine to get it sized correctly. Besides, there was a quiet part of the redhead that thought it might be a nice reminder to the more defiant of the pair that it would be simpler to just go along with Sophie's requests.

She found what she was looking for, and set the box back in its place. The scientist was about to return when the stillness of the room was suddenly very attractive to her - it had been a chaotic day, on top of a chaotic week, finding two humans who had unwittingly made themselves the first tests of her device was shocking enough, and now she had them waiting in the next room. She took a few moments just for herself, and eased her long form onto the softness of her mattress. She felt her heart slow, and decided then she had been in these clothes long enough - the chaotic day meant that she had sweat inside them and decided she deserved something even more cozy.

She lifted her sweater from her form, her eyes darting to the device that lay idly near her. She had always known it would work, she had told them it would, and they didn't believe her - worse yet, if it had worked, their purposes didn't align at all with the scientist's. With a breath, she dropped her yellow garment to the ground; thinking of Nathalie's phone call as she worked on her bra. She felt she could trust her colleague, at least enough to buy her some time - they had shared enough drunken nights together to bond - but those bonds weren't depthless. The redhead peeled her leggings from her legs, sighing in relief as she was even more naked than the tiny woman in her study.

No, she had some time to gather what she needed, and hopefully enough to form a plan, but to the work-obsessed scientist, the data came first. She reached into her cupboard and withdrew one of her more comfy items, patterned with the same feline animals that she so enjoyed. It collapsed over her, as Sophie felt some of her anxieties and stress sink away for at least a few moments.

Despite the calm of her bedroom, she couldn't spend too much time here. Those two were nothing if not resourceful, and the last thing she needed was them getting swept up in dreams of escape and having to search her entire home. The scientist whisked the item from the box into her hand, grabbed the ruler and left the device behind.

As per the deal, Sophie would measure up Maisie and Jenna, then make good on her end of that little bargain.
