Not A Toy 083

The world around Sophie went quiet.

She was finally home. Disaster had been averted and her device was safe. That said, she did have the world's first shrunken humans stashed away inside her purse - all in service of helping them, of course. Sophie was sure they'd come around.

Inside the safety of her own home, Sophie felt a layer of simmering anxiety finally quelled. As quiet as her home was, her mind was always loud but at least here there was nothing else to contend with - save for the two individuals in her purse. Still, it had been an arduous several months and throughout that time, her home had always been a safe space. She was the sole tenant; no romantic partner, no family, no pets. The redhead was quite particular about her home, there was an organized chaos to it all that only she understood, and she always felt especially on edge when she had rare visitors. Her sister and her young niece among them, very rarely a work colleague, and once in a blue moon someone she'd court online for a romantic encounter. That was the list though. Sophie liked her space, and she was quite protective of it.

Of course, she was now going to have to share that space with those two whiny women in her bag. The redhead tried and failed to suppress a smirk; not that they took up much room.

The scientist didn't even waste time turning on most of the lights of her home, instead she strode towards her study with determination. She tapped a random key on her computer, and it buzzed to life. It was getting dark outside, the blue hues casting an eerie shine on the redhead's home. In a flurry, the scientist set down the device, the bag, then wheeled her chair into position. Her eyes scanned about for a few specific items she wanted...

Inside the purse, the two women braced themselves as their world lifted and raised, shifted and shook. The rhythm was constant, as they assumed their captor was walking, but the sounds above had a different tenor now. The noise of a large world above were silenced, and it sounded similar to the after school center - yet this was quieter, and tighter still. The echo of footsteps on a wooden surface trickled to their ears. They were inside now... exactly where though, they couldn't be certain. Then, their world threatened to spin out once more as the pair braced in the corner before the surface beneath them suddenly went hard, the 'floor' of the bag no longer soft and sagging. Had the purse been placed on something?

With their world no longer in motion, the pair did their best to untangle themselves. With a grunt, Maisie shoved the compact mirror from atop her, sending Jenna's tiny dress beneath the mess of items. The graduate freed her leg from the teacher, and pulled herself to her feet. They barely time to focus on it, but their bodies were sore - aching from their jostled journey. Neither were sporting any serious injuries, except perhaps to their pride.

"Where... do you think we are?" Asked Jenna, still seated in the corner of their musty prison. Amber lamp light shone softly above them, mixing with the darker hues of dusk. It was dark outside now - which made this entire experience even more chilling.

The tiny twenty-something steadied herself on the mirror, intending to clamber over the enormous obstacles.

The graduate didn't look back as she spoke. "Don't know. She said she was going to take us to her place, right?"

Jenna sighed. "I forgot she said that. Still, like we can trust her..."

Maisie grunted in agreement, still mildly embarrassed at her initial faith in the redhead.

It was quiet wherever they were, save for...

Footsteps.

Sophie was still out there, she was moving around, but the way sound echoed in the bag it was difficult to tell exactly where she was. Then what sounded like thunder echoed above them - the pair wasn't sure if it was a violent thunderstorm or perhaps wheels against floorboards...

"Maybe we can get free while she's doing... whatever she's doing out there."

The graduate heard nothing in return, and she looked expectedly back at Jenna. The teacher's head was craned upwards, her eyes narrowed on something above her, something was moving... and it was moving fast.

Panic drilled into the teacher's heart as she recognized what was lowering down towards them.

Finally catching up! I always love seeing those 2 struggle with those extremely large items in the purse :) I wouldn't be surprised if they are going to be plucked out again!

Thank you so much! I love compliments on the little details like that! <3

Ivana

This is excellent! The little details in the first couple of shots are adorable, but you really have a knack for the sense of weight. Maisie's hands in the last frame in particular, the hand holding the compact in particular.
