Not A Toy 076

The drive was its own kind of strange.

The scientist was following the road rules; stopping at red lights, indicating her turns, keeping to the speed limit - but all the while there were two shrunken women secured inside her handbag. Shrunk by mostly their own handiwork, or at least that was how Sophie saw it. Regardless, they only had the opportunity to be so clumsy and end up in this state because of her genius! Her pride and joy. Something she had been working on for what felt like several lifetimes. The device's effects seemed utterly flawless too. The pairs' proportions seemed entirely in tact, their mental faculties didn't seem affected, their strength, weight endurance were changed but Sophie had less conclusive thoughts on those areas. If the diminutive women were willing to see reason then the scientist could have answers to the cacophony of questions she had. Of course, even despite the  severe tunnel-vision the redhead had for her research - there was a part of her that understood what she had done was - arguably - not the right thing to do. Still, scientific progress required bending a few rules here and there.

Of course, such reasoning wasn't meant to extend to what some might describe as 'kidnapping'...

Sophie winced. When her passengers got back to their normal size, they wouldn't want to press charges would they? No. Surely not. The redhead reasoned that once she explained herself the duo would understand. Her gaze flickered to the slouched bag, the tiny women seemed to have gone quiet. She had heard muttering soon after the car started so she was mostly certain they weren't harmed. The scientist's mind did wander; what exactly would they have to talk about?

Inside the musty prison, Jenna slipped away from the lip of the bag. Scrambling free was a doable, but she needed to consider her options. The women moved past each other as the teacher took a seat on the water bottle, and Maisie followed suit, leaning against the wall of the bag and sinking to the floor.

Jenna cast her gaze downward, biting her lip. "When she stops the car, maybe we can crawl out and make a run for it - or even get to that damn device. If that doesn't work, then..." The teacher trailed off, strategizing in her head.

Maisie went to fill the silence, but the older woman cut her off.

"She's driving, which mean's she's distracted. Maybe theres someway we could close the door behind her after she gets out, lock it maybe, or even..."

It was Maisie who cut off her cellmate this time, interrupting with an emphatic sigh. "You're talking like we haven't been zapped by a freaking shrink ray. 'Make a run for it'? 'Close the door'? How easy do you think that would be for us?"

Jenna furrowed her brow, pouting slightly. "I understand the situation, Maisie, I'm just..."

"You're just sitting on a water bottle, Jenna." Came the blunt reply as Maisie ran her hands through her brunette locks. The graduate didn't necessarily blame the teacher's way of thinking, adjusting to the size reduction wasn't easy and Maisie had been smaller for longer than her cellmate. Jenna hadn't seen the younger woman pulling stools across that room, reaching for door handles or climbing on tables meant for children for better vantage points.

Jenna frowned at that, and was about to reply when a thunderous sound rocked the walls of the bag. The two women nearly jumped in fright, as the rumble was immediately followed by a shining light that erupted across the fabric landscape. Maisie leapt to her feet as Jenna turned toward the illumination, their eyes going wide as they understood the source of the disruption. The vibrating object nudging the pain relief pills from its surface.

Beyond the shaking walls of the prison, Sophie heard the familiar sound of her phone vibrating! Immediately cursing the fact that she hadn't got her car's Bluetooth system working, the redhead realized that given recent events she couldn't afford to ignore the call.

Inside the bag, Maisie and Jenna realized this was their way past the stranger's locked phone!

Haha, she is so cute in those shorts too, I tend to agree <3

Ivana

Tbh, I drive one hand on the wheel 99% of the time haha. Maybe just grab Maisie then, she seems like a good girl who wouldn't wiggle around too much. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Renee Curie

That is good thinking! But both hands on the wheel, right? Separating them might be a good thought though... Thanks so much for the comment! They really do make me happy to see! <3

Ivana

Sophie should really just hold one of them. Less chance for them to plan/execute an escape. Plus, what's the point having littles if you keep em in the bag? Lol love the last pic though. We'll see if doll hands work on a touch screen.

Renee Curie

I'd be stubborn about it as well!

Ivana

Jenna is going to find out the hard way that's she's shrunk, smol, and vulnerable!

Miles H

You're welcome! The story keeps getting better!

Nicole Corcoran

Jenna is still thinking like she hasn't been shrunk, and Maisie seems a little tired by that. So glad you're enjoying though!

Ivana

Thank you so much!!

Ivana

"You're just sitting on a water bottle, Jenna." I love it! They REALLY want to escape, but it just boggles my mind what they think they will accomplish. They won't get bigger that's for sure. Then again, I'm also not their size so maybe I'd have a different mind set. Then again... who knows what Sophie might do to them, especially if she has an experiments. It's really a no-win situation for the duo :(

Miles H

I LOVE this! Like Btb said, the last panel is so dynamic. I love the lighting! Can't wait to see who's calling. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Nicole Corcoran

Oh I'm so glad you like it! It was a fun shot to compose!

Ivana

The perspective and lighting in that last panel is really cool, like the phone itself has suddenly become a character.
