Not A Toy 073

At last. Sophie was ready to leave.

She took hold of her bag's strap, and loomed over the pair contained within - safe and secure. 

"Okay! Hold on." The redhead offered in consolation, before lifting the bag into the air. She gave the shrunken women no time to make good on her advice as she swung the back onto her shoulder.

Within the musty prison, Jenna and Maisie looked up with wide eyes before locking their gaze on each other. Before they could react, their world spun out of focus. The floor sunk beneath them, the walls pulled inwards, and the opening above squeezed the light away, their space growing dim. The pair grunted, gasped and shrieked as the objects that shared their space moved and shifted with ease unbecoming of their relative size. Items that had would have taken the two of them to move were rolling and jostling, and each easy displacement subtly mocked the prisoners and their reduced strength. Jenna quickly lost her balance, her legs taken out from under her by the rolling of the water bottle, whilst Maisie steadied herself as best she could, barely avoiding the Bluetooth earpiece that rolled towards her. The shrunken women barely had time to speak, all their attention taken by their warping world.

Far above the chaos, in a still and silent room, the scientist breathed a sigh of relief. Her absent mindedness had been the reason that she had left her precious device on the desk in the first place - she had been asked to pick up her niece, in between all of the other things Sophie had on her mental agenda. By the time she had realized that her invention was no longer in her possession, she had already dropped off her charge and quickly sped back to where she prayed it was still waiting for her. She hadn't expected to find two clearly clumsy women fallen victim to its effects, but that was handled now. Sophie was quietly thankful that the pair had ended up as small as they were when she arrived, if they had been able to easily leave the premises then her invention would have quickly become news to the world.

But that hadn't come to pass, and Sophie had the situation under control - well, at least somewhat so. She hadn't expected to activate her device, and there was a part of her that was still surprised she had turned the invention's effects on this pair in the way she had. Sophie had no interest in recriminating herself though. She'd get these two home, she'd get them to understand, once the situation was clear, she'd restore them - she was sure this pair would eventually be reasonable, despite evidence to the contrary. They had been far less understanding and far more bratty than she would have hoped, but if they took a bit of time to come around, it did mean Sophie would have some opportunities to gather data... They were the first humans to experience the effects of her prized work after all.

It'd be a waste to not make the most of this scientific opportunity, wouldn't it?

Sophie considered that. Deeming it would be up to the now safely contained women.

Her attention was mildly distracted by the very faint sounds of shrieks and protest drifting up from within her bag, they were quiet to be sure - but noticeable if someone was in a muted environment. Something to be mindful of...

The scientist took one last look at the room, where she had shrunk two women, chased them around the room and deposited them into her bag, not to mention this area had borne witness to whatever clumsy mischief they now shrunken girls had gotten up to. It was such an unassuming space for the world-first events that had played out here.

The redhead shrugged, satisfied that the situation was now firmly under her control, and left the room behind her, opening and closing the door with an ease that was impossible for her miniscule passengers.
