Not A Toy 065

Maisie's screams and yells were half-finished exclamations, their fullness snatched from her mouth by the blood rushing to her head, by the lurching of her stomach, and the endless swirling the world. What was a chaotic and nausea-inducing experience for the graduate, was several steps across a wooden floor for the scientist. As Sophie's bag came into view, she spied the other woman still held within its confines - the redhead pondered the tiny teacher's situation, and concluded these two shouldn't be so scared. They were the first humans in history to be shrunk! What an honour. They should treat this as the incredible experience that it was... right?

Jenna had heard the commotion in the room. The sound of sneakers on wood, hurried movement, flashes of light that had told Jenna that the device was being fired - which meant that that stranger was likely turning her invention on that Maisie girl. She thought she could hear some faint screams in the distance, but they sounded very far away. Part of the teacher thought that it served the younger girl right for having so easily trusted the redhead! 

The trapped woman knew she couldn't climb out of this bag, she was too small and the surfaces had nothing resembling purchase. What could she do? She refused to just resign herself to being imprisoned like this! Her mind turned over her options; and she decided her best plan was trying to get the bag to topple over, or at least moving enough of the items over to one side so that she could clamber over them and add her own weight to cause the bag's collapse. Taking a breath, the teacher looked to the giant woman's phone, and decided it was best to start there; she leaned over the water bottle and with her tiny arms pressed against the weight of the phone. It was so heavy! In her mind, she had memories of idling with her phone before bed and remembering when it would grow heavy in her hands - and that was when she was her full size and strength!

She grunted and threw her weight behind the effort, and the phone did relent, titling away at Jenna's insistence. If she could get it to fall to the other side, that would be the first part of her hastily formed plan complete...

However, Jenna's efforts were interrupted as she heard both measured footsteps and faint panicked yelps and screams growing closer. Rearing into view was none other than that redheaded woman, still holding the device, and in her other hand there was something else...

Jenna gasped. The wriggling form was none other than Maisie.

"Hey! Let me out of here!" Jenna yelled up at the nearing woman. Sophie came to stand over the bag and for a moment the teacher was reminded once again of just how imposing that stranger had become. How had Jenna and Maisie ever been that scale? It seemed impossible...

Sophie didn't respond to Jenna's request, and knelt down - rushing down to fill the view of Jenna's prison. As she did, Maisie's voice grew less faint as the girl squirmed and wriggled. At last, the scientist  spoke. "Your friend was just as panicky as you - but see? She's fine. You're fine. We're nearly out of here..." The redhead's voice was the calmest it had been since this debacle had played out.

"N-no! Not in the bag, I can... just... listen...!!" Maisie swung in Sophie's grip, trying to reason with her gigantic captor but her words and thoughts were half-formed, cracked and shattered by panic and nausea.

Sophie didn't respond, just quietly taking in the delight of her device functioning so perfectly - that sense of accomplishment muting the protests of the two shrunken women before her. A punitive voice rose within her, as she thought to the merry chase this twenty-something girl had led her on. So instead of carefully placing Maisie within the bag, she simply released her grip and watched the graduate embraced by gravity, pulling her towards the same prison that had consumed Jenna.

Maisie felt the warmth of Sophie's fingers release her - she screamed and Jenna yelped at the sight, startled by the view of the shrunken graduate hurtling towards her.
