Not A Toy 056

Sophie was shocked.

She was the primary inventor behind this device, and she was still shocked. She had never tested it on humans, and here these two strangers had unwittingly zapped themselves with the world's first matter compression device - or 'shrink ray' as Sophie had taken to calling it. Still, it had been one thing to stumble upon her prized work functioning so effectively, but another entirely to be the one pulling the trigger. It had worked just as her simulations had indicated, in less than a few seconds, the elder of the trio had found herself at an entirely new stature.

"Perfect!" Exclaimed Sophie, standing to her full size and regarding the pair beneath her. 

Something clicked in the redhead as she realized they seemingly did not share her enthusiasm. She registered it a moment later - they were panicking.

"W-what did you do!?" Screamed Jenna, her voice was far quieter than it had been - by Sophie's reckoning at least, and what was more; she sounded somewhat up-pitched, moreso than Maisie.

Jenna for her part couldn't comprehend what had happened. The device had flashed, and before she could even protest, she had dwindled deep beneath even Maisie's reduced size. Horrified, the teacher realized she was not much taller than the stranger's ankle. This was too much. She was too small! Maisie looked huge, but the redhead was positively titanic.

"Don't freak out!" Replied Sophie, her face a mixture of delight and concern. 

Maisie couldn't believe what she was seeing either, Jenna had seemed so large just a moment ago, and now? She was smaller than Maisie had been to her! The teacher was les than half of the graduate's size, and looked more like a child, but that was only compared to her own diminished stature. As Sophie stepped towards the teeny teacher, Maisie's eyes arched upwards and she was reminded once again of just how dwindled they both were.

Maisie shot a look up at the redhead. "Y-you said it was broken!"

Jenna stumbled back in fear, nearly tripping on her feet as Sophie loomed over her like a giantess.

The redhead blinked. "The restore function is broken..." She said, thinking on her feet.

Jenna tried to form full sentences, but her voice quivered in her throat, finally able to muster something. "T-turn me back! Y-you can't just s-shrink me like that!"

Sophie looked confused. "Thats what I'm going to do. Once we get back to my place, I'll get this all fixed." The woman was trying to sound convincing and compassionate, but emotional sincerity wasn't something she was particularly renowned for. As she looked down at the pair, she regarded how much 'larger' the younger of the pair looked now, whereas she had seemed so puny before.

Jenna couldn't muster a rational thought, all her logic and reason were knocked away by fear and terror - like a sand castle torn asunder by rolling waves. "N-no! I'm not going anywhere with you!" She screamed up at the woman.

Sophie sighed. "I told you not to freak out - and what are you doing?" 

With that, Jenna's courage cracked and she turned on her heels, fleeing in terror in the face of this stranger who had done this to her.

"Hey! Where are you going? You're both coming with me!" She said, sounding annoyed by this display.

As Maisie watched this interaction, she realized Sophie likely meant the same fate for her, and her own fear of that device welled up inside... She couldn't be made any smaller, that was too much to even consider!
