In a gritty, jazz-infused vision of the late 21st century, humanity has colonized the solar system after losing Earth. Flinging themselves out into the universe, the one thing they brought with them were their vices. Crime thrives in that space between ineptitude and willful corruption and the only people capable of bringing criminals in are bounty hunters known as “cowboys.” The rapid rebound brings many opportunities for con men, manipulators, thieves and pirates.

Emerging from the thick of a heist, the crew of the Cutlass heads to a clearing house on Venus. The ex-soldier Sheck is still feeling the weight of his past and uncertainty about his future when he comes across a very unusual young man. Just how will his future change now?
