That actually would kill the pacing, main trio would need to go through a longer list plot events in a much more synchronized manner. Side cast enables you to progress the plot concurrently. You basically trade in writing complexity (disabling constraints really) for complexity in the nr of possible ways the story could progress (constraint that actually enables action).

Remember, it took vegito 10 years to be higher than the angels and that's with Divine training with mental training and the fact that they are fused makes the power gap even crazier, and gohan has never trained with a god or like goku and vegeta. Plus earth was destroyed several years before vegito was released, so there isn't much of a way for Gohan to catch up like that. Even with his new form, base goku is probably still stronger.

Also, the time in the Demon Realm is much slower than in Mortal Realm. So maybe he found a way to get there immediately after he parted ways with Vegito after he was freed from Makoto’s control. I also think all the Vegitos that were Smited by Z were sent the Demon Realm, fused and now are one entity and is the new Devil.

How come we haven’t seen any of the demon emperors with the unique eye design that Vegeta had in his old demon form? At first I thought you would reveal it for the top 4 or 5 emperors in the demon realm but still nothing. Flame had the purple eye but he lacked that design. Light specifically called it a demon emperor eye when he first fought Vegeta.
