Hybernation

So Return of Hangman part 1 is done.

We made it T_T

So let me explain what happens now.

This Patreon account will now go into hibernation.

I understand that normally one has the option to just turn off the payments, for periods of expected inactivity, but I don’t appear to have that option and I assume it’s because I charge by the page, so it’s simply up to me not to do that.
Either way, the pages will still be here, and they’ll still be on this drive.

I’m just going to leave the drive up for the foreseeable future.
Anyone wants to skedaddle, I don't mind at all. Rest assured I’ll make some kind of announcement when the Patreon is about to become active again.

1)

I’m not completely done with Return of Hangman part 1 just yet. As I’ve mentioned previously, I plan to go back over it and do some touch ups.
There are a few things here and there that I didn’t quite nail. Some of the gag variants look a bit rushed, and page 15 needs to be completely re-drawn! Cripes!
But more than that, drawing one page at a time (as opposed to a more professional process of drafting the whole issue, then inking the whole issue, then rendering the whole issue, etc) means that the style (especially the colouring style) and flip-flopped all over the place.

If anyone noticed that the final page seemed to revert back to a more detailed rendering style, that’s because I think the issue looked it’s best when I was colouring like that (pages 18, 19, 20ish)

So the goal will be to get the whole thing feeling more consistent and part of a whole.

When that’s finally done, these original pages will still be accessible one way or another (for posterity!) if that has you worried.

I said 2022 would be the year of finishing shit. And indeed there is shit to be finished.
I did finally get around to wrapping up that Valora piece with DamselBinder. But beyond that: It’s high fuck-mothering time I finished Luxuria, ey?

I’ve got a number of shorter strips I’d like to approach, and I did promise Patrons would get to vote on which one I do!
And it won’t be a Patreon thing, it’ll just go up on Deviant Art, but I assume there’s only time for one before It’ll be time to fire up Return of Hangman part 2. So like I says: You’ll get to decide which one I do!

But before we move on to the voting - I’ve a bit of an awkward question to pose.
Pontificate on this: Some time from now, Return of Hangman 1 will be propper finished - all touched up and consistent and proffesh… then what?
Like, how should I distribute it?
If I sold it, that would just be a middle finger to you Patrons, wouldn’t it?
Yes! Fools! Pay me for the crappy version then pay me AGAIN for the REAL version! Gwa-fu-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa!!

No. Obviously that won’t do.
I could put it up here on Patreon, at no extra cost of course. But then what’s the point of selling it? I’d feel pretty rotten offering it on Gumroad for x$ when alternatively it’s available on Patreon basically for free.

Here’s what I’m wondering: What once the touch-ups were complete… I just made it free for everyone?
I’ve already profited thanks to y’all kind-hearted souls. The question is, would you then feel ripped off? Knowing you could have just waited all along and have got it for free?
Or do you feel like its eventual release to the public for free was only made possible by your funding it in the first place?
I mean, that’s how I feel. But how do you feel?
