E3 Survey Review Part 2

Combining these next two questions as the first is just a nice reassurance that GoFile is working well. But despite this very pleasing result, I may still look at hosting the game on an additional site as a backup. Thanks to your support money is much less tight than it was pre E3 so E4 might be hosted on two platforms, but I won't promise this just yet.

For the size question I was also quite pleasantly surprised to see that the size isn't an issue for the vast majority. Some very interesting comments here too. As for the size of E21 (the complete game) this shouldn't ever be a thing due to the fact I'll be splitting the game into 3 seasons and each season should be much more manageable.

As the game does get bigger though I will likely try to offer a higher compressed version of lower quality for those who struggle with space. A couple of other comments asking why the game is so large already - if there are other ways to make it smaller without reducing quality I'd love to know. Images are already converted to webp and videos are downsized into ogv files but if anyone wants to give me additional tips I'm always open to suggestions.

Quite a few people asking for patch only downloads (ie only having to download E4 next time). I would like to offer this so we'll see.

Apologies for not yet replying to those who commented on the last post, been trying to focus on work as this survey review will be consuming a lot of time as it is but thanks for your comments I've read them and there are some good points there.

A hint for reducing the file size: Try to compress the files into RPA Files. At least, thats what some games do. As an example, the game Summer Heat has Audio, Images and Font compressed in RPA files. I dont much about it but maybe take a look at it, might be worth it.

"mid 2000's flash game" is hilarious lol

Storage space has always been a non factor for me personally. If I don't have enough space for something I want, I fix it myself. You as a developer can only do so much and since I don't want you to make a mid 2000's flash game, I figure out storage issues myself.

Size isn't a concern, for me. It's all about the limits of the DL site. I have had issues with the free use of Gofile being limited to due to sitewide bandwidth/usage. That's often why creators make new chapters at 5GB - to stay below those limits. If I can get it without being forced to wait 20 hrs for a slow download, I'm fine. I have no internet issues and 8 TB of SSD space. (And, I can always expand.)
