Dev Update #25

Hi everyone, just a very short update from me. Work is going well and I had a pretty productive week but I am thinking about how much I have to do and getting a little bit stressed about that lol. This week I've almost finished all the animations - was hoping to finish them by today but I still have a couple to do but I'm pretty happy with how they are looking. I also finally sorted out the visual effects for True Love's Kiss and Devil's Kiss - you may remember I showed a preview of Eclipse a while ago where you see a very short animation of the moon eclipsing the Sun before returning to the game with a dark blue tint. So I now have an equivalent for the two other special kisses. Also have some audio that might go along with each of these but I'm still deciding if I want to actually use that and therefore pause the game music or whether playing it over the music would sound good or bad etc. But I have a plan for them which I really had to get sorted because - very minor spoiler - you'll most likely be getting 40 skillpoints in E3 which means you can unlock TLK (not that it will be very useful at this point though).

This coming week I will finish off the animations for good, do some renders and maybe find some new music too. Hope you all have a great week :)

Sorry you are stressed. Please for the love of God take as much time as you need and do not rush this potential masterpiece. Most of us would rather you take a few extra weeks to polish up E3 rather than rush something out to meet an initial estimate. Four months between updates is still a lot better than many devs can do, especially solo ones!

and dont even get me started on those devs who do the end game chapters.. ie if your on X girls path the game may have the epilogue here.. but if you aint on her route it may go on a few more chapters till Y girl.. on her route.. no? carry on past that ending.. etc etc.. those suck as it feels like you miss out on a full game

break the jobs down into smaller tasks.. production time will be wasted if you burn out from the amassing tasks.. also this is another reason to curb the need to add many characters.. more characters.. more scenes, more routes, more variable to account for.. it gets too much.. i think thats why most do a harem as it enables a bit more of a linear path to chart with simpler do you want this person in Y or N style choices
