This month it's the turn of the compost system to get an overhaul! This update allows you to create your own compost mixes and choose what effects you'd like them to have on your plants and soil.
Gamer Tier+ patrons can download and play Homegrown here.
And for Programmer Tier+ patrons the code is available here.
Mixing your own Compost
The new compost system lets you to add buffs to your compost in the form of fertilizers. Bottles of fertilizer can be bought from the compost shop in town and each one has one effect associated with it. Current effects include things like increasing plant growth speed, reducing weed growth, keeping soil wet for longer, etc. and there will be many more fertilizers available in the future.

To apply a fertilizer to your compost you'll first need a Fertilizer Container, which you can buy from the compost shop. Place the container in a suitable spot next to your compost heap or bin and fill it with the fertilizer. You'll notice the colour of the compost change as the fertilizer gets mixed in. You can add multiple fertilizers to give your compost a combination of different effects. Your compost mix is now ready to use!

You can now take compost from the compost heap and spread it on the soil like normal. If you ever want to check what fertilizer buffs the compost has, just mouse-over the compost heap (when you have nothing equipped) or your bucket item and you'll see them listed. You can't do this yet with compost on a terrain tile, but I'll implement that during the upcoming UI update.
Compost Bin
The compost bin now works in exactly the same way as the compost heap. Fill it with plant matter, click on it (with an empty hand) to close the lid to convert it to compost, and then take the compost from it with the bucket item. The compost bin also has two connection points for fertilizer containers, so you can make compost with up to two fertilizer buffs.

You'll want to upgrade to a compost heap when possible though - it holds a lot more compost and has four connection points for fertilizer containers.
Plain Compost
If you can't make enough compost from your plant waste (or are too lazy!) then you can still buy bags of plain compost from the shop in town. Just add the bag to any compost heap or bin to top it up (as long as it doesn't currently contain un-composted plant waste). You'll save money if you make it yourself though!
New Item
The collectible item for this version is the sundial, which you can buy in the tool shop for 9,999 coins. Don't forget to copy across your achievements.dat file if you want to keep any previously unlocked trophies. All unlocked trophies will spawn in your house storage when you start a new game.

Coming Soon...
The final updates of version 0.4 will be adding some use for pathways, and making a few changes to the town area. Then it's on to the big UI overhaul!
Thanks as always for your amazing support!
