I'd love to hear your thoughts!!

Hello my dears!! So I'm doing lots of planning/brainstorming about relaunching my shop, and I wanted to hear your thoughts on a potential approach:

I know in the past I've had a secret Patreon shop, where I've listed previous sticker and postcard designs, so folks that aren't in the art mail tiers, or maybe missed previous months, can still get their hands on them. I have also been thinking about making some OOAK (one-of-a-kind) stuff to sell exclusively to y'all (things like pouches, paintings, clay stuff, etc). In talking with White Squirrel (the boutique fulfillment company I'm now working with), and how to navigate having split shops, I was thinking of actually making the secret shop just be the OOAK stuff, and listing the leftover Patreon rewards on my public shop maybe 2 months after the fact. Ideally, I'd do small-ish OOAK drops maybe once or twice a quarter (so once every 2-3 months), and again, they'd be exclusive to patrons!!

As far as my public shop goes, it would be leftover Patreon rewards, but also other merch like deskmats, sticker sheets, maybe keychains?? I'm still trying to figure out what all I'll be selling/making for this initial update lol.

BASICALLY, all Public shop orders (leftover Patreon rewards as well as other merch) would be shipping out from White Squirrel, and all Patreon shop orders (OOAK stuff) would be shipping out from me. What do y'all think? I'm always looking for feedback, but I never know how much insight is TOO much insight for y'all in regards to ~behind-the-scnees~ stuff lol.

(Also, to clarify, I would still handle sending out monthly art mail rewards, and it would only be whatever leftovers I might have from any given month's rewards that would then be sent to White Squirrel for sale.)

I'd love to hear any and all of your thoughts!! Thank you in advance!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts!!

Ditto above, international shipping is usually crazy for Australia, so I'd probably only be able to swing some stickers or similar. I reckon go with whatever feels good for your brain/sustainable, but I'd love a heads up if the extra stickers and prints are going in the shop so there's a better chance of snagging one! Prioritise what's best for you though <3

International shipping is pretty cost prohibitive for me, which is why I likely wouldn't be able to afford OOAK things, but I love the idea of sticker sheets, lil postcards and stationery things, and some bigger items (have you considered t shirts....?). When I was a postcard + sticker patron (which had to stop because I ran out of wall space lmao), I wouldn't have minded at all about the items later being available to the public - truly just the more people who can enjoy your work and support you, the merrier imo.

Ava

I would ship them worldwide but unfortunately, shipping to the UK is still a bit of a nightmare even when I thought I had it figured out last year so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to ship OOAK stuff to the UK :(

cheyenne 🌠

it’d be available for all patrons!!!

I am a big fan of you doing whatever is easiest for you to keep your work/life balance balanced and your process manageable for yourself regarding merch!! All the past merch i've gotten from you and just the values you hold as a creator give me so much confidence that whatever you choose the merch will be amazing! I will buy things wherever and however you decide to sell them! Im personally super excited for the possibility of deskmats most of all!!

Kerouh

One more question I forgot to add, is the patreon shop you are/would be doing available for all subscription levels or only some?

Ozz288

Personally, I would LOVE to consider buying some OOAK items as well as some leftover things you may have. If you ask me, I'd say hell yes go for it! Only do so if you think you'll be able to handle that extra amount of work tho. Also, if you were to do this, would you ship the OOAK items worldwide?(I'm in UK)

Ozz288

It sounds like that plan makes a lot of sense! I'm in favor of whatever leaves you as the artist as much bandwidth as possible to have fun and make cool art ✨

pitch.pine

Whatever is gonna be the best process for you as a creator is 100% the priority! I love your notebooks, I’ve got three and they are my fav to use for my own creative work πŸ₯°

LucyIsADragon

As someone who just changed my mouse pad over at work to a personalised one I loveeee the idea of Cheyenne designed desk mats

amber kels

Whatever is least stressful for you is ideal ! also I’d love a Cheyenne desk mat :0

emily c ( Λ™ ˘ Λ™)

Is it bad to get kinda excited from misreading desk mats as door mats? (asking for a friend) Also, OOAK is very cool and I like your idea for how to divide the public/private shops.

Stephen Gray

I think this is a good idea!! I honestly don't have any other thoughts on how to do it!!!

Finlay

Love the sound of that! πŸ’–πŸ’– this seems like a great plan, thank you for including us in your decision making process ☺️

Makarillu

I know you have been planning and thinking about this for while. I think the plan is great, great brainstorming, young one ❣️

Ingela Barton

That sounds lovely! Honestly, whatever is going to be sustainable is best but that separation sounds perfect

Lydia Parker

I want to see if it would be possible at all to just lock some items behind a password, but if not, I will figure out another way to make sure that you guys get first dibs on any leftover Patreon goodies!!!

cheyenne 🌠

Echoing all of the other comments! I love this plan

Kayla Alarcon

I think this sounds like a great plan, and appreciate that the OOAK items would be Patreon exclusive!

featherpen73

This is a beautiful plan IMO, but then again I'm also always ALWAYS in favor of whatever is most sustainable for artists and their lives <3

Kelsi Long

Def agree with the others! It sounds like it would ease some of the stress of sending stuff out yourself plus I think its nice to be able to get some of the older patreon stuff! I also second the idea for early release for Patreons for the fulfillment stuff even if it's only a few days in advance, it feels like it would be a good added "Hey if ur subbed to my patreon you can get in on this stuff sooner!" kind of deal. Obviously with the caveat to add this only if it's sustainable work wise!

Nim

this sounds like it would give you the mental and emotional fulfillment of having your shop open again, without as much of a demand on the product fulfillment end!! 10/10 πŸ’•

Em

This sounds delightful

Zhara

Hmm...I think I'll probably be rather unceremonious about how I list the older Patreon goodies for public sale, so I'll always post here first to let y'all know that there's new rewards publicly available!! And then I'd post about it on my stories or something maybe a week later, to make sure y'all get a good head-start. How does that sound?

cheyenne 🌠

Oooo the early access is a good idea!!

Anahi Florez

I love this idea! πŸ’• This seems very sustainable and like it would work very well for you and your time.✨ And it gives non patrons a chance to get some of your patreon goodies!

Anahi Florez

Honestly it sounds like a pretty solid plan. And limiting the OOAK to your patrons would help to limit the amount of orders and any pressure you might put on yourself to expand it or to try to crank stuff out fast instead of making/creating in a way that's healthy and sustainable for you. Plus the exclusivity of it is fun for us ☺️

Sarah

I love that the ooak stuff would be patreon only!

niksmyshka

I think this sounds great! I think the only thing I would be a bit worried about is the potential extra competition for older Patreon goodies. Maybe there is a way to have a public sale, but have Patrons have some early access? For like a few hours before the general public has access to it?

Makarillu

I think this is a great plan! (Plus I love your art and would be so delighted to support your shop when it opens! My roommate and I were literally discussing it today!)

Zia Sampson

I think it sounds like a great plan!
