hello from sweden!!

Hello my darlings!! I hope you are well!! I recorded a chatty lil video for you from here in Sweden~~ I hope you enjoy it :o) Just wanted to share what I've been up to and what's been on my mind recently. It was fun to splice together some footage for you -- small videos like this remind me why I like making videos cause it really feels like a video diary hehe

Let me know how you're doing! Happy Solstice and happy (almost) Midsommar to my fellow Swedes 🌈✨🦋💐

hello from sweden!!

Hi Chey! Finally getting round to watching this video and am super stocked about it as I love any content you make, genuinely! I really appreciated how you recognized ADHD and ASD as disabilities in your chat during this video! Honestly I think in a way all mental illnesses and other diagnoses that fall under the neurodivergent umbrella are disabilities as well; due to the fact that most of these diagnoses, just as you point out, make functioning, carrying out daily tasks and functions, and caring for yourself extremely difficult at times. So yeah, basically, I think any psychological/neurological diagnosis should be considered a disability as they are and can be very disabling. So thank you for touching upon this! (Wow my personal neurodivergency and mental diagnoses, along with my psychology major nerd self really popped out here haha!) Oh also! I got my June sticker in the mail the other day and I absolutely love it! I am obsessed with your art style! So so so so glad I finally gave in and saved up and was able to become one of your patrons! Lastly, as you wanted to know how we are doing, I will share (and hopefully this isn’t oversharing…) that things unfortunately aren’t going great for me, but I’m trying my best to remain hopeful. ADHD, bipolar (mainly depression rn), and anxiety are really kicking my butt currently. I haven’t been able to do any of the things I enjoy due to my poor mental health, but am slowly easing my way back into my hobbies. I am in a huge reading slump but was able to read an entire volume of a manga (blue exorcist vol. 7 if you are curious!) the other day! I have also been watching and catching up on YouTube videos again here and there which makes me feel better. Now I can only hope that I will continue to read more and hopefully soon am able to pick up my crochet hook again and get back into creating! I miss my hobbies and hope that this period of poor mental health ends soon and doesn’t steal my wonderful hobbies from me from much longer. Anyway, thank you for the video, I enjoyed it very much! And thank you for all that you do! Keep being you! Lots of love, -Erin

I've been feeling the same way with my art and drawing especially. I hyperfixated on it for the better part of 5 years, and outside of college and classes, I find it so hard to draw and create images. ADHD just sucks so much at times because I'm no longer able to find the same amount of joy in things that I used to be able to do in abundance at a point. But I've started crocheting, actually inspired by you chey! It has been so rewarding and is perfect for my odd brain, and have started embroiderying as well, and finding joy in creating things that arent going to be graded.

I always love hearing what you've been up to! As a recent ADHD diagnosis too, it's really helpful to see your journey -- makes me feel like there's more people like me than I thought 🥹💕🌞

I really enjoyed catching up with you in this way! I have been having a similar scare with artistic burnout, but I’ve also been reading this manga called Witch Hat Atelier which is about learning magic just as much as it is about the artistic process. There’s some really good pieces in there about burnout and drawing that have been lifting my spirits! It’s also just a really fun read (don’t mind this not so shameless book rec). Also, as a late self dx autism and adhd haver, I am so excited for you in your journey of self discovery! I feel you on the “oh wow i’m disabled. this is a disability.” piece and I wish you the best in identifying and finding the supports that best fits you :-D

Glad midsommar !! 🍉🇸🇪🥳

Thank you so much

Ah yea the battle of accepting the neuro divergence in the form of autism and ADHD, and in my case, dyslexia/dyspraxia is a disability It’s a journey my friend and one you are not alone in this. Thank you for talking so candidly about your experience it can be so tough to figure what you NEED to be able to function. The book sounds AMAZING definitely will be needing to check that out In the mean time, you are not alone there’s loads of us walking the same path, we should all get t shirts and hold hands 🥰
