Heya gamers!
Most of the team has been on holidays between Christmas and new years. I’m sure the team needed a bit of a break after the 0.1 release. It has been an amazing experience to see all the awesome feedback from you all and I’m so stoked for 0.2!
We have a pretty solid plan on what we want to do with 0.2 by now. So far, our plan is to have it be all about the relationship between Sarah and Zoey. Story-beats are pretty set in stone by now and we are working on the required art assets to get us there.
A big part of what we’re missing for the release is environment art. We have 2 artists working on it and we are planning on hiring a third to be able to make progress in a reasonable amount of time.
I love the style that we’re establishing more and more. It’s such an upgrade from Third Crisis. There’s also a good amount of lore stuff happening in the background. We have ideas concerning the life in a world, in which androids are a common part of daily life.
We are also making progress on the horny mechanic. Hopefully we will be able to reveal the new way we want to implement it with 0.2! c:

Hello!
So, here is another concept for the district! Its extremely early draft, so everything isnt set in stone) The main goal at this stage is to test some general ideas and concepts (both on design and pipeline).
Here's the overpaint for nail salon)) I didn't change much, here's list of changes:
1) Floor: added structure for grey parts, edge details for rounded pink parts with the chairs. I get overall minimalistic aesthetic from refs doesnt usually have those, but these are to make it more sci-fi;
2) Wall: added some structure again. Idea is that it is sci-fi, but very minimalistic. Imagine all the technoparts mostly are built-in the wall, rather than hang on it. Will add some refs of the mood I was looking for) Some more random idea for the wall is to add some built-in tv, but currently there's no place for it - so its up to you to replace some of its parts with the tv));
3) Added neon light inside the door arch, and generally made its design more complex
4) General feedback for the assets: a good way to add some more functionality and details is to add connectors to the floor) Additionally look out for their lower parts and not make them too rounded - that can make them feel like flying. As for connectors - I added those for robo-arms, chairs and tables);
5) Added some more wires on the front layer (the "black" one). And also added some rounded lights on the corners);
6) Made the corners of the lights on the floor rounded (instead of angular). In this particular case I feel like it fits more for overall shape language. And also gives great contrast with square patterns of the floor;
7) Added some more posteffects! Here's the list of them -color variety on "soft light" - generally some more blues on the shadows, pinks/yellows/oranges on the light and accent places; -added global shadows/occlusion on the corners (dark-blue color on "multiply"; very low opacity); -overall color correction - light blue on "multiply" and some pink lights on "screen". The room still feels pink, but now has pink accents! -some curves/vibrance/exposure edits for slightly better contrast, saturation and brightness)
Lenchi:

Lenchi adjusted the contrast to match the rest of the game more from Zanzo’s overpaint
When Lenchi made the floor brighter,less colorful and a bit more textured it helped to bring the rest of the place more out:
We also have an andro character in it’s very early stage, so for now this is just a concept floating between the team members:
The team is currently working on a fun shower scene! Here Lenchi is doing her best giving Zoey wet shower hair while still having her look like herself (it’s HARD...but I'll get there eventually said Lenchi)
Phew, finally done! Here's the Zoey Shower CG including all of the mini game steps. Not sure if I like how the dirt looks yet because it's kinda frail compared to our chunky style
I had it even darker but for the sake of the mini game I kept it slightly lighter so everything stays readable
Would be cool to add some steam as an effect, like Pack said

Here Less has been slowly trying to bring one of Bear’s ideas come to life - a runaway AI that is trying to take their life back:
Less also played around the idea of some android characters having a similar colour to the robots from Third Crisis:
