Art Pack and Art Pack+

You may have noticed two new posts here on Patreon! 

(Art Pack, Art Pack+) 

I'm here to explain what they're all about. Thankfully their titles are pretty self-explanatory, but I want to be clear about what we're going to be doing when it comes to these art packs moving forward.

Art Packs 

Starting today and continuing each month, we're going to be releasing an art pack that features the art from the new release of the month along with art from previous releases and sometimes even art that got cut or hasn't been implemented yet.

To sum up, these art packs will contain:

Always: Art from that month's release.
Sometimes: Art from previous releases and/or art that isn't in the game.

The time the art packs get released isn't set in stone, but the general rule of thumb will be that the monthly art pack comes out around the same time as the monthly game release give or take a few days.

Art Pack+

Every art pack will be coming in two versions: Art Pack for our Founder Patrons ($10+) and Art Pack+ for our Cutting-Edge Patrons ($25+).

Art Pack+ has the same content as the standard Art Pack, but it also includes the source PSD files with the actual layers that we use for animating, variants, and outfit layering. This allows Cutting-Edge patrons to play around with the layers to get some insight on the game displays these pieces of art behind the curtain.

Other than PSDs as a fun addition for Cutting-Edge patrons, the two versions are identical.

Source Images

All the art of the game has always been made in very high resolution for their source files, CGs being 4K (3840 x 2160) and Characters being 4000x4000. However, on the PC version, all the art in the game gets scaled down to 2048x2048 at most to make things a bit more optimized. On the browser and Android versions, they get sized down even more aggressively to about a quarter of their original size (1024x1024) to make the game fit on those less capable devices/browsers. 

On top of that, we also use crunch compression to help lower the file size of these images even further, and this results in visual artifacts if you zoom in and look closely at the images in the gallery for example.

Both versions of the art pack are going to be featuring these uncompressed original size images in their full high-resolution glory so you can zoom in on your favorite bits and appreciate all the detail and hard work that our super talented artists have put into each of these pieces.

TL;DR

We're releasing monthly art packs for ($10+), with bonus PSDs for ($25+).
