That handsome guy is just a figment of teacher Yamashita's imagination; in reality, he's still the same uncool guy living out his college life.
Come to think of it, I've heard that calling bedwetting “making a map” is a uniquely Japanese cultural thing. Drawing a map on the futon... that's how it's often described in Japan.
Recently, translator Ms.Osakabe seems to be quite busy, so the next English version update may be around late November.

But I recall reading online that this expression was already used in everyday conversation around 1965. It seems to be an analogy used to avoid hurting children's feelings by not using the word “bedwetting” itself. I only learned about the prank of dipping a sleeping person's hand in hot water after I became an adult. It must be because we can now hear stories from overseas on the internet. If it doesn't work, does that mean the people who wet the bed from that prank are the ones who wet the bed normally? That's interesting.✨

I'm curious how the two original became associated. I can't think of any like that in America, but we do have a myth that putting a person's hand in warm water while they're sleeping will make them wet the bed. It doesn't work, but it's a popular prank among children at sleepovers.
