Wyatt's Sprite Discussion/Poll

Hey everyone! I'm revamping Wyatt's sprite. Left is the sprite currently used in the game, right is the new sprite I'm working on. I've been told that the new sprite looks worse than the current one and I was wondering which one you prefer? And what can I do to improve the revamp?

Having the new sprites head turn in one direction and the body in the other makes it look like he's looking behind himself. I do like the new torso art, but every time I'd see him in the game I'd think- why is that guy looking over his shoulder?
