I like coloring my lineart using the same colors as the color layer, to give the illusion that there is no lineart at all!
First I need to expand the color layer in all directions so that it all covers the entire lineart and there aren't any black spots.

The "lazy lineart" spot might be a problem if the expansion isn't big enough to cover it but I deal with it later.
This way the left side of the lineart will be green and the right side will be blue.
But what color should the middle vertical line be!???
Up until a month ago, my method of expansion was blurring the color layer and making it opaque, so the middle vertical line would be a mix of green and blue, something which I considered an acceptable compromise.
The result is good but the transition from blue to green can be a bit blurry: https://imgur.com/a/WexbUvj
I thought it would be better if the middle line was either blue or green. A few nights ago in my bed I realized how that could be done!
The blending mode "Darker color" shows the color of the top layer ONLY IF it's darker than the one beneath. So if you make multiple copies of your image in this mode, and offset them in different directions, it will expand but the darker colors will expand on top of the brighter ones! In this example case, the middle line will be blue, as that is the darkest of its surrounding colors.
Why darker color instead of lighter color? no reason, I think it looks better. As long as one color is chosen over the other it looks sharper than if it was just the average of both.

After that I still put the blurred version behind, and duplicate it and merge it until it becomes more opaque, this way i deal with the "lazy lineart" spots.
