Update!

What’s taking so long?

Family sickness is the main thing that has been slowing me down over the last few months. It started in about October. Every year around October the kids get sick at least once. This year it just hasn’t seemed to stop. There have been some more serious issues, but nothing life-threatening. We’re coming out of a lot of it, I hope.

On a personal note, I work out a lot while writing CF, go figure.  Recently, within the last month or so, I pushed my knee too far. I had surgery when I was 14 on the same knee, found out I had osteoarthritis about 15 years later, and now I'm constantly rehabbing it. I’m 38 now in case you want to do the math. I just want to be able to play with my kids, fight if I have to, and/or run. I've been doing a good job, but I pushed it too far this time. As in, I thought I had three or four shards of bone or cartilage loose. My leg was locking up in all kinds of random places, in a lot of pain, and ultimately I thought I was going to have to have surgery. Weeks later, it seems like I just tweaked some ligaments to the point that my knee was basically out of place. As they’ve healed, I’m walking again. Today, was my first day back in the gym. Yes, I took it easy. Mainly it was just to get the oils that lubricate the knee flowing and the blood pumping. I can about bend it without any obstruction, then straighten it again.  That's only been possible for the last couple days.

Chapters

First of all, I'm not charging for February.

I've been sitting on some of the story, mostly because I'm having trouble sitting down and focusing. I'm used to being able to lose myself in the emotion of the story I'm trying to tell, which is going to be very important for this book in particular, but except for the last few days, it hasn't been happening. Give me a few days to read through it and things should start flowing again.

Cheers
