Underworld Webcomic?

So, I've had this idea for a while and wanted to get your guys take. I'm thinking about making Underworld, and perhaps Codename: Freedom, into a webcomic. It would be anime style art, but I'd want it more streamlined like a webcomic instead of manga. Finding the middle ground were you can have some awesome art without it breaking the bank is the idea.
What are you're thoughts?
Anyone know any artists that have experience with storytelling in this medium?
I'm sure you guys have read webcomics that are choppy and the story seems to have gaps in it. The light novel its based on is often better and doesn't have the same problem. Even if the artwork is decent, this is a flaw I don't want to have.
