Added 2020-09-10 22:54:25 +0000 UTCI noticed youtube doing some ugly crushing on the previous upload. So I did another several reencodes to test some stuff.
Result: youtube is now trashing 1080 the way it did 720 a while back. A wide range of inputs result in very similar output.
This is, I think, the final-final-final-xxxxxzzzzzz version of the kenshi vid, though. It's identical to the version I linked earlier, save for different encoding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWexOHHhTMM
Try to spot the differences! (you can't despite the much larger file size, but I guess I'm going with this as the public version)

That's my first NB run of stage 3 in Touhou Youyoumu. Didn't sub it since I'm not sure there's interest in that, but there it is, in all its... mediocrity.
Still one of my favorite stages in the series, though. It's ancient. Which is probably why the dxtory overlay shows up.
