I am going to post a different variant image of this soon and possibly a composite or two if I can! I will also put all this up as a 4k mini set for this month once completed, probably after Thanksgiving :P
Here are some ideas on how I shot it! I had an overhead strobe just above her pointed downwards, 2 large softboxes behind her and to the sides for the rim lighting, and one more small strobe with a 'barndoor' modifier to focus the light on her scales and not create shadows on her!
As far as camera settings, I used my X1D for this one, at ISO100, f/4, 90mm, and 1/1000SEC!
Keep in mind, this is a medium format camera so the f stop and 90mm would be probably closer to an f.3.2 or something and the 90mm is more a 71 or 72mm on a full frame camera!
