Mauler Sculpt
Added 2023-06-05 02:02:41 +0000 UTCAlmost there! I think after this Mauler I only have the Hatamoto Chi to show off for new KS sculpts. Then it leaves resculpt items if you guys would like to see those.
Another design by myself and sculpt by Alan Blackwell.
While the Blood Asp took some massaging to get the same energy out of the sculpt as was in the sketch, the Mauler seemed to slot right into looking great in 3D. It's another design where I feel we've nailed the best iteration yet with few compromises, but that's a matter of opinion, so let yours be known.
Who else will be running this regardless of the sometimes lackluster loadouts just because it looks cool?

2023-06-07 11:28:28 +0000 UTCSighs and adds the Somerset Strikers ForcePack to selections.. Very interested to see the Hatamoto-Chi and (a) render(s) for the Inner Sphere Standard BA. If I could pick two resculpts, I'd go with the OG Banshee and the Crab with a hand actuator refit.

What I like most about all the work you and the whole art and design team did is the accomplished sense of bulk, the feel of comprehensible items put in and onto a 'Mech. The PPC here is about the same size as on the Banshee or Awesome, The LRMs are fit to size, nothing is compressed. It makes this one a HULK in a good way.

2023-06-05 12:38:46 +0000 UTCI love this mech, ever since the cartoon and then MechWarrior 4. Too bad there are no new variants that drastically change its load out of 4 AC2s. At least the MAL-1K has upgraded them to Light AC5s and in Alpha Strike the Mauler is fun to play because it has a low Battle Value for an Assault Mech.

Personally I don’t think the load-out is that lacklustre per se, it’s not great and it’s not obvious at first glance what it’s strengths are. But the MAL-1R for the same BV as an archer is a very different value proposition, and not a bad one!! It’s also much more powerful in some systems (like destiny) than others.
