Grizzly Concept Sketch
Added 2022-09-25 08:25:28 +0000 UTCSorry for the very slow month everyone. It's been a busy one (and last month also), including my birthday last week. So I've been a bit low energy and distracted. I've realized (at least for now) that I can't handle stacking up conventions, it drains me. So likely sticking to just Gencon next year.
But, here's the Grizzly mech! Was nice to see this one drop in for this kickstarter after being pulled from the last one. I definitely felt like some of the tertiary mechs that made it in last time were less deserving than this one. Another one that comes to mind that people want back is the Berserker.
Looking at the old Grizzly my first thought was to push the cargo crane like cockpit, so you can see that here. From there, plenty of the old shapes are easily updated. Making the legs and lower arms more interesting were the only mildly tricky bits, but overall this one was a breeze.

This was the first clan mech I ever painted - part of my ghost bears star. It holds a special place in my heart. I like what you have done it it, keeping the hip armor but more subdued, keeping the aesthetic of the torso, and improving on the shoulder while keeping the arms mostly the same.

2022-10-11 07:25:45 +0000 UTCI think the Grizzly kind of always looked good, in its original art and in its original mini, so I wasn't jonesing for an update/new version as much as I was for other things. *That said*, this does look excellent—basically a "fine-tuning" of the original design.
