New Prototype Washes

While I always intended to paint this batch grey, the primer coverage wasn't quite comprehensive enough on all the minis so I gave them a quick light coat of paint.
I then gave them all a wash, though I experimented with giving half of them a flesh tone wash, while the other half got my usual soft tone. I think the flesh tone does well to look more like dirt, while the soft tone leans more towards oil/grime. Both look good but the flesh tone might be nice for the warmth and grit.

Thanks for the response. I anxiously wait to see them in person! I love the schrek

Ost mechs! And more tanks!

Anthony “BlackjackMC” Sumadji

If you use the search bar here you'll find the Spector :)

Anthony Scroggins

The Scarabus,Hollander,Venom,Nexus,Hitman,Spector, and Stealth. All the new sculpts are great.

What do you define as an IS fast mech? There are several light mechs that have been shown off so far.

Anthony Scroggins

Will the Rommel tank, any IS fast mechs , and the Thunderhawk going to be in the new kickstarter?

james brown

Yep typically if we model it, it'll get lineart, as CGL intends to keep making TRO's and TRO style products.

Anthony Scroggins

Hey Anthony, a question if you don't mind : are there any plans to have lineart done for the Mercenaries KS Mechs & vees (to be featured in a possible upcoming product) ?

TIM STRAUVEN

The splayed legs make the scorpion look bigger too. Don't suppose you can do an old vs new comparison on the Shrek? Be interesting to see.

James Abbot-Cole

There is an antenna hole to the hatch's right, you might be seeing the hatch hinge details. The previous post of closeups shows off the various antenna holes better. Firestarter has one on the head. Hoplite has two. Scorpion has one angled rear.

Anthony Scroggins

Perspective is always key, note it's the only one not on a paint handle making it further way. It's chassis is 50% longer and wider than the scorpion. The assault vees will have less volume than the assault mechs though, as the mechs get a 20% boost to volume while the vehicles are all on a flat scale system. This stops the assault vees from have enormous base overhangs, and so they don't overshadow the mechs.

Anthony Scroggins

It's still there, just not in the tracks.

Anthony Scroggins

The hole behind the commanders hatch on the Schrek, is that for an antenna? If so, Bravo for that attention to detail.

Matthew Shaw

This makes me realize the Shrek looks too small... The Shrek is 80 tons, but its chassis is barely bigger than the Scorpion at 55 without the legs. Firestarter looks bigger and the Shrek looks miniscule next to the Saggitaire and Regent. Is there any chance the vehicles will be upscaled some?

Aaron Thurston

The Schrek's driver's cupola used to be placed so that the driver had the track running *through* his chest. This is a huge improvement. :)

Terence Harris

Also, love the Firestarter!

I just realised, has the cockpit of the Schrek been moved? Didn't it used to be on the left side of the tank?
