IS Standard Battle Armor

It's not the sexiest piece of armor, but it is in wide spread use and early tech so that all IS players can plausibly use them.
Even the most competent previous artwork for this BA by Matt Plog is 22 years old. Time really flies. With that I decided it was important that the suit look cool and functional before any hamstringing happens out of faithfulness to the old design.
I also wanted to work more of its Elemental BA salvage origins into the design. The proportions of the frame are much more similar (and more realistically fits a human). The lower legs and feet share more design language, the old brick legs had to go.
Even more than the Elemental armor, I think you can look at this concept and really see the man all that armor is strapped around.
I've no idea yet if this will be strictly a force pack item, or if there will be a stretch goal during the KS to also put it in the main Mercenary starter box of the campaign.

2022-06-07 04:54:02 +0000 UTCThis one is really interesting to me. I see influences from Plog's original(?) design from LosTech and TRO3058. I also see some of the updated elemental suit in there. Plog's old design was pretty good, but I agree that these legs are a big improvement. In general a lot of his old BA designs look like they have no room to bend at the knees. I think I might like to see a little more freedom of movement for the trooper's head, but this looks really good. I wouldn't say no to a physical version.
