Vindicator Concept Sketch

I don't know why but I've always liked the Vindicator even though the original design looks little wierd. Maybe it has a bit of an underdog feel to it. It's one of those: "You don't go to war with 'mechs you want, you make due with the 'mech you have" kind of 'mech. Which I think I think is very immersive and fitting for the 3025 era.

The armored cover is an important detail IMO. I was disappointed the updated Centurion omitted it.

My bad. I'm still not sure how to describe it... in the original (the mini more than the line art), the head looked like it had a house stuck to the front of it. Kind of like Darth Vader's helmet, except the shape in front is a pentagon instead of a triangle. The MWO Vindicator, and yours, make that extension shorter and also flat-topped. That looks better, but also a little more generic.

Once the Clint, Javelin, and Whitworth are redesigned I can truly smile. So close to having all the old school classics I truly care about face lifted. This looks great

Tear to my eye perfect. Bit surprised it didn’t have “blade” style antennas, which I think would work well too. Classic antennas are just as good. Thanks for a properly represented waist too!

Also, when are you gonna do the Bombardier? I would love to see your take on it. (Since you're taking a break from the Shimmerfication of the unseen) And the Jagermech would be great, too. ;)

I like it, especially the PPC detailing, the torso, and the shoulders. I don't know about the leg proportions... that's one part of the original that never worked for me. I just like bigger lower legs, like on the version that Justin Nelson drew. Was there any thought to using the original peaked cross-section to the muzzle to differentiate from the MWO model's trapezoidal section? Still looks good, though. My St. Ives forces will need one or two.

Yay, vindicator! My favorite national grunt mech. It ain't flashy, it's a bit slow and a bit small, but it's well-sinked and packs a surprising punch for its weight. Love what you've done with the design.

I dig it! The appearance reminds me of the first sculpt Vindicator that Ral Partha did way back, which I’ve preferred over the resculpt that IWM has been making (though this concept clearly has better proportions and looks like a proper medium mech). While I can’t say I’m much a Capellan fan, I do like a few of their mechs. Well done!

For some reason, I have always loved this 'Mech. I'd been waiting for this one to get updated, and this is absolutely perfect as far as I'm concerned. You even have the weird nozzles on the PPC barrel for siphoning water!

We got the Raven and 'Phract. There were enough other troopers that got redesigns that missing this one, while it hurts, makes sense. This guy and the Vulcan really do need new sculpts, though. This feels a lot like the old 4th Ed punch stand, which is, to date, the best table use mini of the Vindicator.
