I really like what you have done so far. You have taken a mech I didn't think was redeemable and made it interesting and likeable. This was the first mech I painted using washes and dry brushing. It was a present and at the time I was reading about the Wolf's Dragoons. I hated the original art and sculpt, so I thought I would test painting techniques on it. It turned out amazing, despite me hating the model.

Fortunately I think I managed to be a little less...extreme than I was on the Mercury (still my wildest to date, I think) but this guy probably needed Sentinel level surgery. Not going to claim it was as successful, because the Sentinel had...more going for it (like art largely matching the RS at least), but it was almost as fun a challenge.

Half the variants have the weapons in the STs... and about half of the later ones, in the arms. So I had to kind of hybridize the location to work for both. Would have loved to have kicked the LRM launcher out just a little more, but such is life wit record sheets, lol.

For me, part of the perverse pride I get is taking a mech you shouldn't want.. and making it look good enough that you want it in spite of the stats. Suffice it to say I have several more on the docket. And while this sculpt obviously is a 4A/C, several of the variants are actually pretty kick ass, in truth.

2021-06-13 21:26:36 +0000 UTCI do have a fondness for the WD mechs, I run 3 of these in my Beta Red Guard Battalion and I use the B model. In Alpha Strike a pretty decent mech, takes a pounding and still keeps coming. Now bring out the one we are all waiting on, the IMP!
