Was a lot of work, but certainly helps starting with our nicely detailed 3D models.
At first I was a little worried the swap to a vibrant mech color would break the mood of the piece, but the contrast of moon dust to red worked out nicely.
We'll see how it goes once the op-for mechs in other sections add another color to the mix.
Any miniature painters think they'd have a much bigger struggle doing this more complex depiction of the Dragoons Alpha scheme?

2020-09-12 23:27:00 +0000 UTCWhere decals go is very flexible, sizing too. The main enhancements I'm trying to push are a little more intricate black accenting, and the idea that each mech has some additional personalized flairs, like the Marauder checker, and the Marauder II having yellow stripes.

2020-09-12 00:08:49 +0000 UTCLooks great! From a miniatures perspective, checkerboard patterns can be a bit of a pain to lay out and paint well, but you kept it to a very limited area. The Wolf logo on the Marauder's torso also looks a little small for FPG decals, but most people aren't sticklers for that sort of thing. Maybe I'll try to hand paint a simplified insignia on mine. ;)

2020-09-11 11:15:32 +0000 UTCWow! Honestly it's a nice red with black accents. I'd go gw Mephiston Red spray for the base then either Vallejo german grey or gw corvus black. I'd use decals for those checkers though, not painting them by hand! π€£
