Crossbow Concept Sketch

The Crossbow is an interesting one where it looks a little odd on Battletech, give it some sub arms and it fits right into Appleseed, or in Patlabor. It's a mech where we could have really changed it up, but I like keeping in the odd "gundam" for varieties sake and establishing what our outliers can look like.
Bishop did a good job of keeping it faithful, then I drew over a few tweaks and applied management feedback.
And yeh, the torso is sitting a bit far back right now. Easy fix in 3D.

2020-06-02 03:45:39 +0000 UTCThis is one of those mechs that has always looked cool, the original mini looks good, and this looks *even better*... yet I've never really been a big fan of it for some reason. I dunno, maybe it's because I was not a Steel Viper player? I have the exact same feelings about the Battle Cobra: it is undeniably cool, and the redesign is coolER, but it's just not my thing. Regardless, great job. My friend who used to play Vipers will be into it, for sure.

2020-05-31 18:43:31 +0000 UTCI think it’s a great design of an otherwise dumb looking mech. There a few of the BT designs that are just wrong-end-of-a-dog ugly, and original crossbow was one of them to me... but this is a cool, clean design - that still feels Battletech-ey! Good job!

I am not saying this is a good idea, but if you wanted to de gundam it a bit, draw some more visual cues from the Star League era Lyran Mech. I know doing so is a bit completion backwards, and I am not convinced it is a gread idea, but it could bring it more in line with the rest of the IP’s visual style
