Guillotine Concept Sketch
Added 2020-05-11 00:59:46 +0000 UTC
Here's the Guillotine design by Alan Blackwell. Has a bit of draw over by me, mostly on the torso and left arm.
It's been a long lineage of diverse goofy faces, but that dies today, sorry not sorry :P
always thought this and the Thug were related, now it shows. good work, may have to get a couple for a Snord's Irregulars unit.

This is the one I was fearful for, not your art, but how much it would change, I miss the shoulder flanges, but still a nice one. Will go well with my Wolverine II beside it.

I think that's because of it being jump capable. Thick ankles to absorb the stress.

This, weirdly, has been the one I've been waiting on, and this version is amazing. I love it.

I kinda miss the War of the Worlds martin cockpit but this one does look nice.

We always tweak things in 3D if they don't look right in that form.

That's the main camp that loses in this KS. Many of the wacky elements go away that people have nostalgia for, so that they don't put off new players who lack that nostalgia.

Did not skip leg day. Beautiful.

Goofy face and pointy shoulder pads gone. Otherwise it was a good looking 'Mech to begin with, and you didn't mess with it much. I like the upper arm actuator to match the sheet.

I mostly like this Mech, but I think the lower legs are way too thick...this aspect look bad enough in the drawing, it would be worse as a plastic model, I feel...

holy oversized medium lasers Batman!
I love what you did with the cockpit and the large laser arm. the overall roundness of the legs keeps it in line with other Star League Proprietary designs.
I wish you had not reduced the shoulder pauldrons though. those things were a touch of the ridiculous "Form over Function." that I love about this IP.

Those ankles seem a little big for a 70 tonner, but overall I like it.

It has got to be this, or the Mercury that is wearing the crown for "most improved design" - I am REALLY waiting to see the Crockett. The Crockett is so ugly I cannot fathom anything cool looking unless you just toss out literally every piece of previous art thus far.

I love it! It's got the chonk that you expect of a tough-as-nails heavy brawler, and now it's got hips! AND KNEES! I'm really loving how you've managed to make all the old 2750s look like they can actually walk, and cannot wait to see your take on the Champion!

I like it. It still looks kind of old and clunky without looking full-on derpy.

hmmm, was kind of expecting a gravity propelled blade somewhere. put one between the legs maybe?

BIG improvement on the original!

This looks great. The awkwardness of the large laser on the original sculpt always irked me. I think Alan really addresses that issue while staying faithful to the spirit of the original.

Like it. Now I have to check if this box was on my list...

Another Mech I've been discounting for ages because of the mini. No longer, this is a beaut.

Yeah, I was hoping for an "elbow" as well, just to balance out the look with the right arm.
I know unbalanced arm looks are exactly an unusual feature for Mechs with this game, but here at least I was hoping for the balance.
Mech still looks good, just feels a little off to me.

Im really looking forward to that mini!

I did not expect it to bulk up so much, but it works! I love it!

That is one beefy boy.
2020-05-11 02:24:11 +0000 UTC
Not bad. BUT I will admit to hopping you'd try giving the large laser arm an elbow but this looks good as well. Easy to picture quick draw raising it up to fire. I also like how clearly defined the cockpit is as it sorta sticks out instead of just being flat.

I was wondering how you'd solve the weird stick arm problem, and this does the job rather nicely!

YYYAAAAAASSSSSSSS!!!
2020-05-11 01:47:53 +0000 UTC
Looks great! The left arm was a good choice, at first impulse I was hesitant, but this is the better option. I love the cockpit and shoulder area. Another Star League mech that blends the sleek, round, and smooth with the new updated aesthetic. Great job!

The Guillotine has long been one of my all-time favorite 'Mechs, and I have been eagerly awaiting the updated look....It looks incredible! I need a company of these!
2020-05-11 01:37:15 +0000 UTC
That looks excellent! If the redrawn Thug looks half as good, I will be a very happy man. :)

SSSOOOOOO GOOOD!

Finally the mech that will be My personal paddy wagon has come alive! This pleases me.

oooh, a fantastic improvement on one of my favourite 'Mechs. I can't wait to see this one made plastic.

Very nice! Great compromise on the left arm. Hated it looking like it had a peg leg strapped to it' left shoulder! AWESOME job Alan!
