Nightstar 3D Renders

While they're not hard to make, it is somewhat time consuming and a fair bit of fiddling to make all the multi angle renders of finished sculpts, hence I haven't posted them for every mech. BUT, I knew you'd all want to see the Nightstar as soon as it was ready. So here it is!

Alan Blackwell did a good and swift modeling job on this one, and it looks great in a moving pose.
I tell ya, coming from the era of fighting egg and potato minis, comstar and star league forces might get "most improved overall" in looks.

How many of you will be fielding this with all its rarity being damned?

Stunning! This is DEFINITELY going to be a commander in my First Davion Guards RCT!!!!!

Joshua Bressel

As somebody who plays ComStar and Word of Blake depending on the setting, I can assure you that this will get plenty of use.

Solomon

thank you, I didn't wanna screw up again like I did with the crusader last year.

James Bixby

It's actually a really cool look to the design. (The mech itself is not one I have much more than a brief passing knowledge of, tbh. ) I kinda like the thought that a "punch" from this mech is more akin to a piston driving out the "fist", rather than the arm itself moving in a "punch" motion. It makes more logical sense to have a piston on a multi-ton, very expensive machine. Something designed to punch, rather than parts that logically should break. But then again, this isn't always a game that runs on logical sense. :D

Normal weapons load. There's no great solution for hand actuators when you have gauss rifles in the arms. The claws have overlapping extension tubes to get in front of the barrels on the rare occasion that a long range command assault mech ever needs to pick something up.

Anthony Scroggins

Not yet on this one.

Anthony Scroggins

What's the weapons loadout supposed to be for the arms? The top parts almost look like.... I dunno, extendable grasper claws or something... which would be weird with the extended out guns underneath.

I liked the concept, but it's even better now. It's got cool stuff going on from every angle!

Carlos Sempere

Bummed that I didn't order that forcepack. That's a sweet looking mech.

I love it between this and the behemouth I cant decide which is my favorite redesign, now if you can tackle the Dragon Fire some time it needs this type of love.

Mark D Booth

I am so happy about this one. This is a mech I always loved as a piece of *art* and in terms of lore and stats, but the mini never looked good to me, so I never got one. I've been waiting for it to look as good here as it did in the art from the get-go.

Robert Schuster

Is this public? I don’t wanna step on any toes again

James Bixby

I've been super excited for a new Nightstar since it was added to the list of Kickstarter minis. I'm really excited about getting my hands on one of these. Great job!

Raymond White

This looks pretty sweet, was super excited when this design was originally shown, I really like Giorgio Espinos version of it.

I did shorten the front half of the torso down because in final it was looking a bit long. There was a fair bot of arm shortening done too. Some things don't quite feel right when strictly matched to the sketch. And yes, the lower legs are THICC :D

Anthony Scroggins

Amazing how one can take a mech I would not touch with a 10 foot pole and turn it to something I am drooling over

James Bixby

Yeah, I love the multiple angles. Especially the rear.

Mike

I, for one, very much appreciate the multi angle shots. Thanks for the work you put into those. Love the Nightstar, hate the old model, love the new model. Can't wait for these to get finished.

Wow, the render turned out super good.

Jordan G Roberts

This has got to be the best redesigned yet.

I like it! (Also sorry if this comes across twice... thought I commented but I don't see it?) It just feels big and scary. I did feel like your original lineart had a little more length to the nose, which I kind of liked... but it also could be optical illusion. I am not crazy about the calves - the look REALLY thick in comparison to the rest of the leg... maybe it is the little hydraulic pump gizmos on the sides... the legs just feel a little calf/ankle heavy to me - but I really like it.

It is a nice miniature. It looks way better than the original. Great job!

I don't actually use Nightstar's all that often, but for this mini, I could be convinced otherwise.

Terence Harris

I got both Comstar packs, so I’ll be fielding my first Space AT&T lances when these arrive. Good job on the Nightstar. I’m a fan now!

Big improvement over the wide arm spread of the old mini! I love it!

Robert Moore

Wow, this looks awesome!

This has always been my favorite of the Marauder-series of mechs (after, of course, the actual Marauder), but the original design just never quite did it for me. This one, though... oh, yeah, I'll be getting a couple of these.

Richard Powell

HEY KING CRAB! I WANNA HAVE A WORD WITH YOU!!

Tyler Erickson

One of my favourite Mechs and you've nailed it to the wall. Top job.

Martin Sweeney

This is a mech I never paid much attention to... but I might have to now!

William Minsinger

Looks a huge improvement on the older design!

Andrew Dickinson

I love the detailing on the shins and feet. I shall be fielding one along with other mechs that were accidentally shipped to the DCMS during Operation ROSEBUD

Nyxus

Nightstar be like ‘grab mah strong hand!’ Dig it :)

Joe Wright

Compared to my sketch? Only a few minor changes to remedy perspective paradoxes. Most notably the wider rear housings.

Anthony Scroggins

That is impressive! Unlike the old mini, this looks the part. Looks like it can take (and deliver) a beating.

Kanrei13

Love it! The cylindrical reactor thing in the back looks great. Were there some some changes to the arms from the lineart? Not complaining, just curious. I think they looks great too! Very excited for this one.
