Fire Falcon Concept Sketch

You want crab? No crab for you!
You may have a cute but fast and deadly Fire Falcon though.

This one was a breeze going through because I'd done a fun redesign on it years ago. So much of the old art (CCG) was either terrible, or inaccurate (lineart) that it leaves a lot of room for creative interpretation.
Key goals were a nicer nose, and retaining the huge SRM ports.
It's also to my knowledge a rarely used mech so I don't expect any grogs to be clinging tight to it. A least, I've never once seen in person or online anyone using one in their forces.

Now my hope is that it will gain new player use due to looking like the lovechild of a raven and locust, while on crack weapons.

Is there a miniature or model of this guy yet?

Tyler Erickson

I do love the look of this machine. The legs and center are great. I am not a fan of the weapon layout but its what it is. Have always preferred more symmetrical layouts. Again the core design is really good.

William Janak

Medium pulse, 2 mediums, 2 smalls, 2ssrm4

Anthony Scroggins

What's the weapons load-out for this, particularly the arms?

I dont think I will ever be able to look at this without thinking of the Raven

Other than the "Snub Nose Medium Pulse Laser" I'm liking this a lot. Could we lengthen the barrel a little?

Kanrei13

Raven and Locust baby? Poor locust daddy, because i see the jenner IIc genes, guess thats where the cutie got its fire from.

Swen Decker

I love it.

Chris

I love the ridicules missile tubes. Really showcases how overgunned of a mech our favorite murder birds made.

Ryan de Haas

It is a great improvement. The SRMs on the top from the original art are a lot less cooler.

One of my favorite light Clan mechs! Showed it to my wife (cause she is used to calling my existing Fire Falcons "Kermits") and she thinks it's ok. We both note the legs seem more "curvy" than the blocky stuff we're used to seeing. I feel the weapon ports are just a bit over sized on each arm too.

A Clan light that has tickled my fancy. It and the Kit Fox are my choices for Clan light miniatures.

Tyler Erickson

The only reason I never used it is because I didn't like how the original design looked. I will 100% be using this. Sort of like a cross between a Raijin and a Jenner IIC.

Robert Schuster

I might actually use this mech now that you've made it look like a mech instead of a..... you know, I really don't know what to say about the original FASA design, other than "blech"

Jarod DePastene

If glass was a hard rule or even fan ideal then people wouldn't hug so tightly to the Marauder and other limited viewports. They're ideal to have, but not at all required.

Anthony Scroggins

That thing looks really awesome, great job!

Andrew McKenna

I'm pretty sure that's a speaker in his left arm, but I'd definitely use this mech.

Mike

This looks awesome.

One of my favourite Clan light 'Mechs, for sure. Nice update, but I'm surprised you didn't correct the impossibly small cockpit. Still, very excited to get these!

David Razi

They're in racing seat posture, and the window is just for killing infantry, which many variants are made for luckily. Sensors and internal screens for the main view.

Anthony Scroggins

OK, as usual, I'm trying to picture where the pilot sits. If looks like if they're behind the obvious window, they'd have be lying down.

Used it precisely once, much bigger fan of this!

Andrew Dickinson

From zero to hero.

I mean, I quite like the fire falcon, and it’s odd little frog eyes, but this is certainly a better design.

Hah.

Anthony Scroggins

one of our guys in Kansas City is a Falcon Player. this bastard has replaced the Uller and Dasher in his armies. Im sure he will appreciate

James Bixby

It would look better if it was the King Crab. Much better as the King Crab. King... Crab... (I guess the fire falcon looks nice or something...)

I like it overall, but the pulse laser looks a bit funky to me. Maybe too wide/short? Agree with Cristopher that the SRM's look great, the little step out lip on the bottom of the top rack is awesome.

Aaron Stevens

Not the beeees!

Anthony Scroggins

Very nice update of this psychotically overarmed little pest

Alex F

I like the honeycomb look of the launchers.

Christopher Eastwood
