Trebuchet Head Vote!
Added 2020-03-18 04:30:07 +0000 UTC

You've seen a hint of the Treb earlier, but before it's final we've got something to settle.
Internally some like the clean lined dome the avoids a pinched look in the front/top), while others want the old school angle change part way that delivers the vader bucket look.
Which do you prefer?
Also in the comments let me know your opinion especially if you ACTUALLY DEPLOY TREBS on the table :)
(For example a lot of people didn't like the big Panther PPC, but actual Kurita players said they liked it)

It's called a Trenchbucket for a reason...

2020-03-30 00:33:06 +0000 UTCI field my Trebuchet regularly enough. It's powerful missile support for a medium platform. I voted for the classic shape because the helmet shape is part of the personality of the mech. I'd even go so far as to suggest you increase the 'helmet' portion of the head slightly to make to bottom overhang just a bit more. A mech's gotta have its individuality

2020-03-20 08:20:35 +0000 UTCVoted towards the original bucket shape. I have used it a few times and works great in a mixed medium lance I find.

2020-03-19 11:45:13 +0000 UTCWe don't always try to carry everything forward. The glass area is a total replacement, though it still hints at some older pieces.

2020-03-19 08:45:28 +0000 UTCI wonder what was the reference for the "face". All old trebs im aware of had a cockpit in shape of eyes or googles on a quite humanoid head. Compared to them the new one looks almost like a neckless cyclops. I mean, look at the black knight and you see what im missing here.

2020-03-19 01:21:48 +0000 UTCI go for the original, but I'm having more issue adjusting to the new face than I would the new head shape. I've always liked the Trebuchet, but it's never looked great. a 50-tonner wasn't really meant to have an LRM-15 on the wrist.
Mike
2020-03-18 20:28:45 +0000 UTCCan we get an option "C" and get the original head back? That face is hideous and doesn't work at all for me.

2020-03-18 19:13:15 +0000 UTCIt has to be the bucket, it’s like one of the iconic aspects of the design I look for. Sets it apart from similar med mechs like enforcer. Have played trebs in past, especially in games set pre 3050. Had a character started in a treb before moving later to a crusader.

2020-03-18 17:43:46 +0000 UTCIt’s a hard choice: both look good. I voted for the new look, but only just. I do use the Trench Bucket on the tabletop - I was really happy it made it into the Kickstarter!

2020-03-18 17:38:09 +0000 UTCI don't see much difference, so I voted for the original
2020-03-18 16:48:16 +0000 UTCHonestly, they look like the same picture.

2020-03-18 13:42:32 +0000 UTCI'm in no way against to modernized deigns, the new mercury and maruader II are both awesome, but I do prefer it when the new design retains a feature that links back to the original model. The bucket gets my vote.

2020-03-18 13:32:37 +0000 UTCI had to stare at the two images for over a minute to even notice the difference. but I think I prefer option 2. Option 1 is a bit too Enforcer.

2020-03-18 13:19:39 +0000 UTCI don't really have a dog in the fight... I mean, I ordered the pack, but the Treb will almost certainly be permanently relegated to "OpFor" - one of the few mechs that has never escaped the ... uh... unseemly stages... but I think I like the dome better...
2020-03-18 12:58:57 +0000 UTCUsed to hate the Treb cause it was so ugly, but I've grown to like its weapons loadout. The bucket head is entirely necessary to its look.
David Razi
2020-03-18 12:51:26 +0000 UTCI voted for the classic look, but I suppose it might depend on the rest of the mech. A thinner body might look better with the dome, while a chunky body would probably look better with the bucket. Overall, "Trench dome" doesn't have the ring of "Trench bucket". I use them, but sparingly, because their stock loadout was always a bit too squishy for me and I didn't like the old look of them.
Maarten Broekman
2020-03-18 12:40:02 +0000 UTCI'm with you. I think the dome still gives the helmet look, just without the weird vader flare out. It still has a flat section on the lower half.
Anthony Scroggins
2020-03-18 12:38:00 +0000 UTCSigh. This is one of those times I find myself in the minority, the bucket looks derpy (IMHO).
Stewart Spencer
2020-03-18 12:27:00 +0000 UTCBoth are nice, but I think the bucket is more visually distinct. I will love to throw this thing on the field, when I can too. Cheap fire support
Raymond White
2020-03-18 11:58:01 +0000 UTCI prefer the bucket, it fits more the mech. Many thanks for offering us a choice
2020-03-18 11:35:49 +0000 UTCYou should give him a try. It is very good in 3025 and some modern versions are very good
2020-03-18 11:35:25 +0000 UTCClassic bucket, but I never use the Trebuchet. But since I'm getting one via the Kickstarter that might change.
2020-03-18 11:15:38 +0000 UTCTrench "Bucket" please
Richard Jensen
2020-03-18 10:56:18 +0000 UTCOK, but the reason is that people mangled the french trebuchet. :)
2020-03-18 10:55:47 +0000 UTCI field Trebuchet and prefer the Vader look.
2020-03-18 10:28:24 +0000 UTCI like dome better, but honestly use them pretty rarely because i dislike my "old" metal mini when im building forces myself and kind of rarely roll any when using RATs. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Swen Decker
2020-03-18 10:22:15 +0000 UTCI tend to deploy at least one Trebuchet when playing with my FWL forces.
2020-03-18 09:37:50 +0000 UTCThe dome would give it a more sturdy look, plus the fictional implementation of more armor could be used. The mech has always seemed too scrawny. This is kind of the equivalent of giving it a thicker neck hahaha.
Andrew McKenna
2020-03-18 08:53:18 +0000 UTCNeeds more bucket.
2020-03-18 07:41:53 +0000 UTCI need my KFC......
Benjamin Myers (Bishop Steiner)
2020-03-18 07:02:19 +0000 UTCIt was called a trench bucket for a reason bucket head.
2020-03-18 06:22:47 +0000 UTCBucket. I do intend to run one, but in both designs I feel the “helmet” is too small and the faceplate is… difficult to figure out. I have a hard time seeing what’s supposed to be the cockpit, and the forward rake is throwing me for a loop. I don’t really get it.
Carlos Sempere
2020-03-18 06:05:11 +0000 UTCI field them often, and prefer the bucket head.
Yankee Air Pirate
2020-03-18 05:25:21 +0000 UTCI run 2 trebuchet 5s in my Alpha Strike games when I run my Denab 10th Cav, and 4 when I run my Kurita Galedon Regulars. Doing 8 to 16 points of damage is very brutal in Alpha Strike so Darth Vader Bucket head for me! Also do you think we may see the Warhammer IIC this week?
Robert Moore
2020-03-18 05:18:58 +0000 UTCBucket, but I would still use the other one.
2020-03-18 05:04:03 +0000 UTCCan't have a trench bucket with a dome.
2020-03-18 04:59:33 +0000 UTCBucket, it's more recognisable.
2020-03-18 04:46:51 +0000 UTCYeah I would have preferred a Dervish too.
Anthony Scroggins
2020-03-18 04:41:46 +0000 UTCGotta go the Trenchbucket
Alex F
2020-03-18 04:39:53 +0000 UTCLove the Trebuchet, will field it regardless, but I really like the bucket head.
Robert Schuster
2020-03-18 04:39:27 +0000 UTCI voted, but I typically field Dervishes over Trebuchets. So I'm a little salty anyway.
2020-03-18 04:36:07 +0000 UTCBucket FTW. And I do indeed put one on the table whenever I run Marik
