I agree... Sasuke got done so dirty by Kishimoto and FOR SURE could have been written a lot better in a more obvious kind of way. Because you really have to try to lock-in with Sasuke's motives to be able to really understand his narrative in the story. I feel like Kishimoto just really should have made some things a little more understandable. Also, for example, how Naruto and Sasuke's abilities work in the last part of the show lol. They never explained that Sasuke can switch places with objects lol

Literally never seen a character done dirtier by a narrative than Sasuke Uchiha. I'm sorry that you dislike him Cannon, cause he's easily the most complex and interesting character in Naruto, in my opinion. It makes me so sad that all of his trauma, his legitimate complaints against the village and the shinobi system, and even his good qualities are all swept under the rug so that Naruto gets to play the role of his "savior." His situation has so much nuance, and it makes me so frustrated that not just the fans (a lot of them anyway) label him as this kind of one dimensional emo jerk, but then the official narrative does it too. To this day, I can't believe Kishimoto made an incredibly detailed plot about how terrible the system of power in the village actually is and made us watch it through the eyes of the person who was (arguably) the greatest victim of it and have him model PTSD so well only to then go "But actually emo boy just consumed by darkness now, shinobi system actually fine now that bad people are dead (but sasuke was bad for killing them)"

It's interesting that Naruto lost that fight to Sasuke in OG because he also didn't also have that perspective. Especially since Sasuke kept saying he wouldn't fully understand him because he hadnt truly lost anybody Naruto only finally understood Sasuke after losing Jiraiya and fighting Pain. That's why he told Sasuke right after that whatever he did until that point was understandable. Meanwhile Sasuke was AWOL for the entirety of Naruto's journey. So when Sasuke finally gained 'perspective' in this moment, and realizing Naruto stayed true to himself in OG even AFTER experiencing great loss, he realized he'd truly lost.

2:04:01: I don’t think it’s about “trying” to relate to his feelings or not, I personally just did because that level of grief isn’t foreign to me. Thats why some of his decisions and lines just hit. It’s not really a matter of “supposed to” either. Two different people could go through the exact same thing and receive/handle it differently and there isn’t necessarily always a deeper reason for it. And I might be wrong about this, or I might misunderstand what’s implied, but I don’t think anyone was saying that Sasuke should embrace his darker emotions, we were just saying he made sense to us, especially since Itachi himself instigated his young mind to seek revenge. Sasuke’s journey was the most captivating to me in any case. On first watch, I was most curious about what would bring him back around, especially because he seemed to take a darker route at every turn after he found out the truth about Itachi, and then again when he ran into Danzo (hate that guy). Taking the wrong turn every time was both sad and fascinating to watch because he’d lost his chance to just go back to the Leaf when Madara showed up and magnifed the grief he’d been feeling. Like being pulled by a dark pool of quicksand. His state of mind is something I could understand and it's also why one of the things I admire most about Naruto is his inability to give up on people no matter what. People deemed irredeemable like Kurama and Sasuke, he fully embraced them, understood them, and kept his arms open for them. His heart is just beautiful.

Yeah, see the scene where they show those who gather around Naruto VS Sasuke saying on his own in the darkness was just so sad to me. I felt such a disconnect with how happy the Geks were seeing that scene because they focused on enjoying the way Naruto was acknowledged by everyone, but I kept wondering what kind of hollow, emptiness you have to feel in all that darkness for so long.

Why do so many people here act like episodes 485 to 499 don’t exist? I’ve been a Naruto fan since I was 7 or 8 years old. I finished the show in 2019, and I started watching Boruto in the same year. I’ve NEVER seen/heard anyone say the show ends at episode 479, because that just isn’t true. The war and the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke end in episode 479—NOT THE SHOW, AND NOT THE STORY OF NARUTO. The ACTUAL ending of the entire show starts from episodes 485 to 500, followed by The Last: Naruto the Movie. Honestly, as much as I love Naruto’s arcs, episodes 477 to 500 and the last movie are my absolute FAVOURITES❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥. We all watched Naruto to see how the story of this GODLY BOY would end! to see his world, his people, the life he built, and what they would look like in the future. So in summary—There are still a few episodes left: 485, 486, 487, 488, 489, 490, 491, 492, 493, 494, 495, 496, 497, 498, 499, and 500! And then the final movie.

So as far as a replacement show for Naruto (after you finish the movie and if you want to watch up to episode 500 of course) I'd say it depends on what kind of a replacement you want. For another long running show I'd 100% say start Bleach. But if you're looking for something shorter before starting another long anime I'd say Hell's Paradise. You guys love JJK and Chainsaw Man so it would make sense to watch the only remaining show from the Dark Trio.

Besides The Last and ep 500, I think at least Boruto the movie is a must. It’s the best way to learn what happens in the near future. Yes, the anime adapted the story from the movie better, but I feel it’s unrealistic to expect the Geks to just play few Boruto episodes from the middle of the show. The movie is good enough, and it’s actually good as a stand alone thing. I feel like the experience of Naruto as a show is beautifully completed by watching Boruto the movie - you see people as adults, learn what happens to them and if you like it, a whole show awaits you. If you don’t, at least you get closure about your fav Naruto characters.

Cannon, it's not technically the end, there is still the movie plus 484-500 is all manga canon, although 484-488 is sasukes story, 489-493 is shikamaru's story and neither are that important, they're basically missions for both but you see lots of characters post-timeskip and saying the contents of 494-500 would be spoiling, but you guys definitely atleast have to watch the movie + ep 500 if you don't wanna watch the rest of manga canon stuff, and also honestly after that i think you guys would do good from watching the boruto movie atleast to see the future. Im guessing you guys probably will not watch Boruto. It certainly is way overhated due to the intense stretches of filler but the manga canon content really is actually fairly decent, i don't think its as good as naruto of course but particularly the current manga is really in a good state atm and pretty hype. I personally disagree on this one. I know the first arc was adapted very poorly, but it’s also the most iconic e nostalgic and the vibe was never replicated later on. I think if they just glide past it, its not gonna stick the way it should. Plus the anime is also set up perfectly with 2 episodes paired everytime, so they could do batches of 4 and it would work great. Also this arc has probably the largest amount of info dropped, so they may need the help of the comments

My favourite show is over 🥹🥹 The emotions I felt while watching it are something I’ve never experienced with any other show. And that’s exactly what Naruto is known for in the anime community — a series that makes you feel everything. It does that perfectly. The writing is honestly better than 90% of anime out there, aside from some obvious issues like Kaguya, which clearly came from the decision to create a continuation like Boruto (smh). It truly deserves a remake because of the pacing problems and excessive flashbacks. I genuinely think it’s one of the shows that would benefit the most from a remake, because aside from those issues, the story itself is literally perfect. My goal when watching anime has always been to find a series that could dethrone it and make me feel the way Naruto did — but after 8 years of watching anime, I honestly doubt that will ever happen

Naruto is my favorite show of all time, it might be inconsistent, and I might think there are better written stories, but for me, this one has the highest points. No other show has made feel the same way, it makes me cry every single time.

Naruto is the craziest show ever. It gets really shit then suddenly super good. My opinion dropped a bit on rewatch but it also has some incredible moments. That speech Naruto gave sasuke in the end really feels like someone trying to help a depressed friend. Sasuke is finally admitting his insecurities and voicing doubts to Naruto, questioning him on how he knows if he's going to go crazy or not. And Naruto just gives him the same answer from the beginning. It's just he decided to actually get the wax out of his ear and see what was there the entire time. Wish Shippuden was this consistent, but I do understand how rushed these manga authors are.

Love this fight, personally my favorite Naruto fight imo, it just meant more and it was pretty decently long which was nice it wasn’t just a clip it was consistent and I thought the kaiju fight was short and sweet. It would be cool if they reacted to the final naruto shippuden episode (ep 500) cause I think after the movie it wraps everything nicely it would be cool if the movie and that episode were in the same batch because it’s pretty emotional. This is still my favorite fight in all of anime. I know the writing is mid/bad in a lot of aspects but watching this for the first time is something I will never forget. And the Uchiha forehead tap is the “highest expression of love” in their clan, so it’s canon at this point that Sasuke is acknowledging Sakura’s feelings for him as mutual … (so Boa Hancock got nothin on her since Luffy dgaf and Sasuke does) Next is Naruto: The Last movie, which is canon and was written with Kishimoto, and he called it chapter 699.5. After that are the Sasuke’s Story (484-488), Shikamaru’s Story (489-493), and Konoha Hiden (494-500) episodes, which are based on the novels. I recommend the Sasuke’s story and shikamaru story episodes, and #500. The rest aren’t really important Lastly… chapter 700 of Naruto was never adapted. So next is BORUTO! Kishimoto wrote a 10-chapter story (he made it chapters 701-710) titled Naruto and the Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring, which is Boruto episodes 19-23. Then the Boruto movie takes place over episodes 52-66, but the anime episodes that cover it are much better than the movie.
