i think the ending just left way too many plot holes lol.. like im so lost on everything. there was like 0 explanation the entire time of why and what relates will to henry.. why did the upside down stop at nov 6.? why will?? we didnt even get any flashback to henry being controlled by this evil mindflayer and we wont get anything from that?? we literally find out henry is a vessle too and thats it. i mean whats the point of the 2 hr episode if the fight takes 10 mins. its just dissapointing. i think its not as terrible and evil as some say it is, just because i think my expectations were higher than they shoulve been. but it def wasnt that good either.

2026-01-04 18:06:32 +0000 UTCthem sidelining will in the FINAL episode of the show after the entire stranger things fanbase, from diehard fans to general audiences, fell in love with him at the end of sorcerer and were on a sugar high and wanted SO MUCH MORE from him plotwise was the downfall of the show! literally gave us one of the BEST MOMENTS in the entire show's run (up there with max's sequence from dear billy, joyce's scene with the lights on the wall, will's possession stuff from s2, eddie's rock solo in the upside down etc) SO MUCH POTENTIAL just wasted...??? for what? on the frankly very useless plotline of holly and the kids. Like don't get me wrong, nell fisher killed it as holly but using the last season and last hours of precious screentime on a character no one cares about? while taking away focus form eleven and WILL? just imagine how much more narratively and thematically rich the story would've been if they focused more on the question "WHY WILL?" WHY was HE taken? and only him on nov 6th? And if will was just another random vessel WHY did vecna pursue him for 6 WHOLE DAYS? when he could’ve easily just kidnapped another kid from Hawkins instead to use as a vessel? Like the duffers retconning and watering down their own story for no reason? Clearly they set it up narratively in a way that makes will seem VERY SPECIAL AND CAREFULLY CHOSEN! Also the upside down being frozen on Nov 6th? Like are you kidding me? they literally NEVER ANSWERED WHY! SO MUCH POTENTIAL THERE FOR INTERESTING LORE! henry and will literally mirror each other as characters, both shy, sensitive, artistic kids who have suffered childhood abuse, both of whom were specifically singled out and chosen by the mindflayer as vessels, born on the SAME DAY, like just endless potential!!! could've explored why henry was never able to break free from the mindflayer and lost himself to it because he never had the support system and love that will had from his friends and family and ultimately succumbed to fear, whereas will breaking free from the mindflayer and hive mind through love (the classic "can love defeat fear" that AGAIN was teased by the very canon play "the first shadow" that the show NEVER REFERENCES OR USES) i can't believe that the final battle just devolved into a big marvel-esque cgi slop battle! no final confrontation and psychological battle between will and henry, nothing more deep for el, just cheap cgi battle, the big bad monster being defeated under 10 ministers 😭💀with guns and fireNOTHING INTERESTING! Nothing subversive of expectations just empty soulless passive popcorn theatrics without deeper meaning:( The duffers saying they did not play it safe and took risks?!?! WHERE?
