Okabe is the reason this show is what it is, he's so entertaining to watch, but I love all the supporting characters as well, Makise especially. Steins Gate is my favourite show but close seconds for me are Berserk and Welcome to the NHK. I really hope you watch these two eventually as well. Neither has as incredibly polished a story as Steins Gate imo, but both are so good in their own way. Berserk is pretty old and you can tell from the animation, but something about it is so beautiful. It has such an impossible level of atmosphere compared to anime these days. It's forboding at times and soothing at others, carried mostly by an unforgettable soundtrack. I really hope you guys can watch it someday.

2025-12-10 00:32:55 +0000 UTCHere’s the thing: Steins;Gate is my favorite show of all time. At the same time, I can fully admit shows like AOT and Vinland are “objectively” better, and higher rated. This is why I like to make distinctions between “favorite” and objectively great/complete, because sometimes there’s that piece of fiction that just gets to you; one that you connect with so deeply that you don’t need or even want to explain why it tops those peak shows like AOT. Steins;Gate did that for me, and I’m so glad you guys can understand why finally! The rewatch also goes insane and like Canon said, Binging is 100% better for this one. Maybe one day! Can’t wait for S;G 0!
