The goofiness is on purpose, definitely recommend playing some, the show is not based on the people or stories that are told in the games- just set in that world while being a hundred percent accurate (as far as I could tell). The turret missing him at the beginning is accurate to the game, you can absolutely outrun those turrets. Also a bullet to a non-vital area, or even a vital area, are non problematic if you have a stimpak.

It’s part of the world and one of the biggest reasons the fans of the games loved the show because it felt like the creators really knew what the games were like.

Good thing is that silly illogical scenes like these two almost don't happen after the first 2 episodes, so it does get better.

And the reception for the second season of Arcane just wasnt as strong as the first so people probably voted for what actually met their expectations or went beyond, which fallot sorta did for a live action video game adaptation. Arcane is a great show but i do think this does it better at being an adaptation of the game. The way I saw someone put it was, Arcane probably didnt make many new LoL fans more so it made arcane fans where as the Fallout show made alot of people fans of the game if that makes sense.

Fallout 3 takes place in the Capital Wasteland (Washington, DC), but you also have another part of Maryland, Alaska, and one other interesting location with the DLC. This show takes place in the Mojave Wasteland (California and Nevada), so it's more akin to Fallout 1, 2, and New Vegas. In the Fallout verse, the locations have a huge impact on mutants, culture, faction presence, etc. On the East Coast, the Brotherhood of Steel is a much bigger force. That being said, I'm very glad the show takes place on the West Coast. Edit: Fallout 76 takes place in West Virginia or something. I haven't played it yet.
