It’s definitely extremely sus personally I did find it kinda weird because it was too spot on. Predicting Vecna could be a kid from the lab is plausible since him and El both have powers, but yeah on episode 3 Victor’s story wasn’t even developed at all. I get that it can be annoying, I think it was a little too, but these people are doing the most. You can say it’s sus but they’re actually being so mean, at the end of the day, it’s just a reaction video, if you don’t like it, just stop watching. I hope this doesn’t ruin it for her.

I think sometimes people misunderstand the type of love Papa shows El. Take it from an older guy, there's such a thing as selfish love. I hope none of you experience it. Papa is an example of it. He does genuinely love El. Most people who are like this don't even realize they're that way I think. It's revealed really well in the show and the crew picked up on it the way he says I all the time or it's always about what he wants. He can genuinely love El but still be like, "yeah but I know what's best no matter what." And that can include harming her which is a big reason this type of love sucks. A great EXTREME example was just portrayed with All for One with his brother in My Hero Academia. That was the most selfish love I've ever seen 😂

Season 3 was just a very dark and unapologetic aspect of the show, so it felt like a step up from the previous seasons in that regard. That's honestly the main thing that got me loving season 3, as well as the acting from characters like Billy. I mean, giant flesh/fertilizer monster? Yes please. Season 4 finally ties things together, but in doing so, it removes that air of mystery from the earlier seasons (which is fine). Season 4 is just very different, so I would say it's BOTH better and worse in its own ways.

I'm convinced that people that say season 4 is "boring" is due to age or maybe someone who needs constant stimulation and needs something to happen in every scene. Most people can't sit through dialogue scenes anymore without talking, fidgeting around or missing something due to the fact that there is no action happening at that moment. This season is literally putting all the puzzle pieces together beautifully and giving the backstory/lore on Vecna while setting up season 5. Simply, it's just more adult and explores a lot of what we need for later. It is vastly different from season 3 which was purposefully made to be like the big summer 80's blockbuster films of that time. Season 3 thematically was about fun, vibrant colors, summer and certain popular movie characters (Terminator) and films that were out then or had been out previously (The Blob). The Duffers do an excellent job of referencing all of this in every season and giving so many easter eggs to us to take into account and into the following season. So yeah... my point is Season 4 ain't boring. Season 3 isn't the best season but was meant to be "the fun blockbuster" one. I die on this hill. End of day for me personally, I like all of them for different reasons but Season 1 and 4 are my personal favorites..... I switch between the two at random.

In his own twisted way I think he cared for her but what he really wanted was control. What he did in this episode confirms that. If he woulda let El leave then maybe we can say he’s changed but he didn’t which means deep down he’s still the same man. I’m really glad El didn’t give him the satisfaction of saying she understands cause after everything he doesn’t deserve that.

I honestly feel bad for Henry. He seems to be one of the first of his kind, not understanding his own powers and had mental issues on top of it. He eludes to his parents not being so great and then becomes a prisoner. I mean he’s evil for sure, but it’s not like anyone ever tried to help him. I feel like in another world, El could have ended up like him, if all that first fight never happened and she never escaped in season 1. Also I think papa’s version of caring and loving is just getting someone to their full potential regardless of the harm it may cause anyone else or even the person, because it’s the science and discovery he values most. I don’t think it really means much that he symbolically lets her free by releasing the shock collar. He was dying. She could have removed it herself with her powers anyways, and without the remote it was useless. He didn’t do it for her. He did it for himself, I believe. In his last moments he just wanted validation. I’m so glad she didn’t give it to me!

Why is nobody weirded out that Will lied about El commissioning his painting 😭 I think only Jack is the one who made a reaction to that. She literally said "He won't let me see it" in the first episode in the letter to Mike and also said "I think there is someone he likes". (ALL THE TIMESTAMPS ARE FROM THE PATREON REACTION NOT ACTUAL EPISODE!!) Mike used to have a binder of Will's drawings in season 1 that he would caress and stare at for long when he thought Will died. He is a huge fan of Will's art and he still has Will's artwork hanged in his room. Look at Mike's face when he sees the painting from Will and then keep watching his face as Will keeps lying about El and speaking on her behalf, that face at 19:38 after Will saying "Even El, Especially El," This is the first time Will ever lies to Mike. Idk if this is a Finn Wolfhard move or the director told him to do it but he has signature thing where he looks at Will's lips, you can see it at 20:08 and it's very quick. Also this was filmed for a whole day and everything was artificial including the lighting! In 19:06 you can see Mike smiling with the word "Boy" next to his face, in contrast to him making a nasty face with the word "Women" next to him in the frame in episode 1 of this season. The time stamp is 47:29 of your own reaction to episode 1 on Patreon. I don't think that was a coincidence, especially after knowing how much effort they put into these sets and shots, every little detail is important. Also during this whole scene the shadow of the word 'Boy' kept going in and out of frame during specific moments. This one might seem like a reach but if you think about it, that whole set was a van in a studio, between screens and artificial lighting, so there would be nothing moving these words without intention. They kept making the word 'Boy' appear every time Will comforted Mike or when Mike seemed hesitant about his relationship, then it disappeared each time Will talked about El and reassured him about their relationship. I personally don't think that was a coincidence, especially after learning they took a whole day to shoot that scene that was a few minutes long. Then in 28:05 Dustin mentions how Mike won't stop whining about Joyce always being on the phone, meaning he tried to call Will multiple times but couldn't reach him. We established by the end of season 3 that Mike would be using Cerebro (Dustin's device) to contact El using a Walkie Talkie that we see inside her box at the beginning of episode 1, because they can't risk alerting the government. And in episode 2 Will tells Mike "El has a box of letters from you meanwhile you only called a few times, it's been a year Mike!" and Mike here got upset with him and said "How is this my fault? IDK maybe you should've reached out more" implying that using the phone is his method to talk with Will. Again, they keep paralleling Will, Mike, and Eleven with other relationships in the show. For example, 51:39 and 1:17:24 from this same episode. We see that Robin has despair in her face, then we see Vickie makes an awkward smile to her boyfriend. But with Will and Mike it's not the same, Will was happy smiling because he is reunited with his sister. Meanwhile, Mike represents both Robin and Vickie in this situation/frame. You can see Mike smiling at El, looking at Will, looking back at El, his smile fading and he looks miserable. Another thing is that in the conversation between Steve and Robin at 1:06:36 focuses on the fact that Vickie is with a boy, so that means she is straight, but then Steve questions that by bringing up that the movie VHS (the one that was paused at boobies) was rented way before this boyfriend visited, so it could possibly mean that Vickie could like both boys and girls or that she is in a hetero relationship despite being gay because it's the 80s. This same logic could apply to how Will and Mike could view each other. Will sees Mike with a girl so he assumes that Mike is straight and that he has no chance, then Mike sees that Will keeps pushing him to be with a girl who is his sister. So this whole chaotic love triangle thing is very much in your face if you really look A small detail is that in 56:03 there are references to two movies about aliens in this little scene, E.T. and Close Encounters. E.T. because of the locations they pointed on, and Close Encounters because it parallels a map scene from it. Makes sense since they're in Nevada and you know "Area 51". This small scene that went over your head because of how unimportant it is had an actual meaning. Then Jonathan saying "straight, straight, straight" then saying "it just doesn't make sense" while Mike is helping him point the location, good one Duffers... This is all I gathered from this episode every small and big detail I could, so take this with a grain of salt. Some of these could be misses but if you don't count everything then you might miss something. I got a little more for the finale and I can't wait for you to witness 2 hours and 30 minutes of peak! Enjoy your watch :)

Dr. Brenner was a man of science, and a very narcissistic one at that. None of his actions ever truly put Eleven’s well-being first. I mean, if you want to protect someone, you don’t repeatedly push them to the point of cardiac arrest or put them through years of abuse. But the important thing is: his motivation. His end goal every time he pushed Eleven further was to develop her powers, always with the intention of using them for his own benefit and to advance his project, this whole discovery and weaponization of psychic abilities. There’s no doubt he may have developed some kind of attachment to Eleven while she was under his care; he was human, and you can see glimpses of that before he dies. But even then, he goes right back to manipulating her, whether he hoped she’d help him or simply wanted to ease the guilt he felt at the end. Henry was his “failed” project, and all of Brenner’s dedication to helping Eleven regain her powers wasn’t driven by affection, but by his desire to use her abilities to fix his own failure. That being said, I felt deeply represented by Cannon’s commitment to hating him every time he showed up lmao. But he was an interesting character for the show, for sure.

I didn’t feel bad at all for him during that scene with el, even in his final moments he prioritized giving him self that bullshit closer rather than el. That scene with Will doing a veiled love confession to Mike always gets to me because him saying he feels like a mistake but that Mike makes him feel better for being different is genuinely so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. It also makes you remember Will saying that "he wouldn't ever fall in love" to Joyce in S3 and how rough seeing everyone else with girlfriends must have been.
