Also being reanimated hasn’t negated anything they did when they were alive because all of this is kind of happening because of what was going on when they were alive, their accomplishments are still in play as well. And like itachi said he hates the reanimation jutsu because it forces people to fight their loved ones so it’s kind of like a horror jutsu to mess with your psyche and like you guys said jaraiya’s send off was so good you have to leave it at that

He carries deep regret for not reaching out to Sasuke when he could have, a regret that turned into guilt he’s lived with for years. Sometimes it’s the little things that hurt the most the words we dont say the actions we never take. And the fact that this regret never fades no matter what he’s endured just shows how heavy it has been for him😔

We did get some amazing moments thanks to it, moments that wouldn’t exist otherwise, but so many characters already had perfect send-offs. Bringing them back can only take away from something that was already complete and meaningful. I would love for Jiriaya and Naruto to meet again too but it can't be as great as his send-off which is, for me, one of the best send-offs in any anime

2025-11-08 15:46:32 +0000 UTCI'm not the biggest fan of the endless power-ups and the countless times they try to fight Obito, the ten tails, or Madara; build up the hype, only to fail again. It’s happened so many times in this arc that it’s starting to get annoying. Sure, the power-ups make sense, but they kind of lose their impact with everything that’s constantly going on. The intensity never lets up, so you become almost numb to these explosive, dramatic moments that are supposed to get you excited. They’ve managed to protect the shinobi over and over again, and at this point, it’s hard to feel any tension, even when huge attacks are coming their way, you just know most of them will somehow survive. Even if their survival is explained reasonably, it’s happened too often to still feel impactful, atleast to me. That’s why I’m not the biggest fan of moments like that, but I still absolutely love Naruto. It’s because I care so much about the characters that I don’t mind those things too much in the end

2025-11-08 12:11:11 +0000 UTCAttack on Titan major spoiler don’t read if you haven’t finished the show: Carter, I keep hearing you say stuff like “imagine if someone were on part 1 of Naruto and saw this,” when talking about the scaling in the war arc and this applies to your favorite battle shonen too (AOT) 💀 Like, imagine if someone were still on season 1 of AOT and saw a clip of Eren’s Founding Titan form. They’d be like “wtf am I looking at?” And on top of that, seeing hundreds of thousands of colossal titans marching beside him. It would be very shocking for them 😂 So yeah, for someone who's only in the early parts of these shows, seeing final arc stuff out of context would be shocking, but once you get there it makes sense lol.

Plus, if he were brought back as a good guy, it would massively tilt the war in the good guys' favour. Also, this whole ninja war is a test to see if Naruto gives up his ideals after seeing so many allies die or will he keep his word and stick to his nindo. Jirayia being there by Naruto's side would make that biased and easy for Naruto to stay himself. Same way Itachi is gone and it is a test of Sasuke to see what he does on his own.

And cannon I totally know what you mean. Like it’s not necessarily like Jiraya shouuuuld be there. But it’s definitely sad that there’s all these closure moments for everyone, except him haha. I’m kind of 50/50 with the reanimation. I didn’t like seeing pain back. I feel like he went out exactly how he needed to. I felt the same about itachi but then ended up liking it in the end when he had his moment with saskue. Ultimately I think it was a way to bring all the legendary hokage to the story. And truthfully with how high the stakes are, I don’t see how else it could have been done haha. So yea I don’t looooove it. But at least it’s not like they are straight up alive and get a second chance at life. It’s a ton of episodes but I’m pretty sure this is all happening within a few days/week or something. And I think it’s definitely more for the characters who are actually alive, to motivate them rather than the dead coming back to life to get to live again. Maybe it could have been done differently, but I think it’s made for some really cool moments! One thing with Naruto, I just decided to just accept certain things and enjoy it for what it is. And watching it makes me feel good. When Karin isn’t on screen.

For the whole show they hyped up these legends Minato, Madara, Tobirama, Hashirama, Sage of 6 paths, prime Lord 3rd, etc. All legends in their time and helped shape the ninja world to be what it is today. All made choices they thought would fix/prevent “war” but all eventually failed in that dream because of their choices. But they eventually died entrusting progress to the next generation. Madara holds on with this plan because he believes only he can fix the Shinobi world and not entrust the future of Shinobi to the next generation (I won’t get into how on point this relates to the world today) This sets the table for Pain, Obito, Sasuke, and Naruto in the present day to continue to fix the Shinobi world and learn from the success and failures of their past heroes and enemies. Having the reanimations sets up some pretty cool ways to end the show and gives us the message Kishimoto wanted to tell in a unique way. It also makes the world bigger and ancient in a way that other shonen haven’t really done before or since.
