Comment just while watching the intro, I just LOVE your guys excitement over T1. I started watching them in about 2015/2016. I remember I was in my uni halls watching their match against Rox Tigers at the time and I was screaming at my laptop the whole time, I’d never been that excited about any kind of competitive “sport”/esport before. my take on himmel and frieren's relationship: himmel's feelings were very obvious to everyone but frieren herself, who has spent most of her life oblivious to love or romantic interest. frieren did not reciprocate those feelings at the time, but i think at some point in the series, after reflecting on himmel and his behavior toward her, she'll recognize he loved her and wish she'd realized while he was still alive.

The kiss Frieren used was actually a spell, as Fern and Stark in the background was saying. It did affect them, but they weren't the target, but they thought it was really sexy just by being near the spell being cast. It seems Sein has resistance to the spell.. more on that later in the next few episodes.

When I first watched episode 12, I thought it was just a good episode. But lately I find my self rewatching it over and over again and it’s a masterpiece. There’s so many subtle themes and cinematography that masterfully intertwine at the climax. It feels soul breathed. A living episode. I never felt that way by any show or episode so it remains my goat episode of all tv/anime all time. I would relate its magic to ghibli’s spirited away.

Poor Stark! Having to lose his clothes. I had forgotten that part. I like Sein, but his brother is right. He needs to live his life. And instead of regretting not going after his friend he needs to find out if his friend is still out there. Frieren makes me laugh. Her wiles make work on Himmel, but I think they definitely missed the point on what Sein is looking for. Frieren is older, but she still has the appearance of a teenager.

I liked the outro discussion about Frieren and Himmel, the romance between them is very subtle and there were definitely feelings there but as Frieren explained in the last episode Elves don't really feel the need to reproduce or feel romantic feelings in general. They seem to be a rather solitary race and finding one another is rare, hence why she also said they're quietly going extinct. But the clues to how she feels about Himmel are definitely there which you guys can see she's just overtly nonchalant (reminds me of Maomao from Apothercary Diaries) whilst Himmel is so overtly chalant that air smooch had him slumped and bleeding lol 💀
