Fun fact - Nami's actress is actually REALLY good with the staff. She nailed all those shots with the body parts herself. They're not CGI'd - she literally hit things into things for that part. Pretty crazy! Also, is this an extended version of the Live Action, because I swear there are lines in this version that aren't in the original, and some seem missing, too. IDK, it's definitely different to the version I watched.

Usually DF eaters lose all strength as soon as they are more than knee deep in water, but in the beginning Luffy is struggling in the water. Also DF eaters can't float, except if they do.

2025-09-15 16:19:41 +0000 UTCHarsh take incoming but I’ve always felt like one of the few One Piece fans that truly dislikes the live action adaptation. To me it feels like people are too quick to praise the show because of all the passion that clearly went into the making of it (and don’t get me wrong I’m not knocking that). But, for me the show fails in the 2 core areas I believe are truly necessary for any live action show to succeed, directing and writing. Not to get too into the nitty gritty but with the direction it just feels cheesy, one example is trying to make one piece edgier than it naturally is with its themes. Then with the writing, look I understand it’s an adaptation and it isn’t going to be one to one but there are multiple emotional beats that I think they absolutely butcher due to writing out small but key details that gives those moments it’s emotional boost. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy the adaptation and that it’s the worst adaptation ever (it really might be the best anime live adaptation) but it’s by far no masterpiece.

The amount that the water affects them is proportional to the percentage of their body submerged. It doesn't just apply to salt water, any water follows this principle.

I started One Piece years ago when there were somewhere around 600 eps and I was also hesitant bc of the length so I can only imagine starting now with over 1k. But I'm glad I committed because it's one of my fav anime. I recommend going into it with a long-term mindset bc unless you have all the time in the world, it'll probably take months and maybe over a year to catch up. Enjoy the ride and experience PEAK.

I remember wondering if Zoro's dedication to Luffy was expedited in the LA, and they maybe skipped something from the anime where Zoro decided that Luffy was worth following. But nope, he's simply ride or die almost immediately in both, and it actually happens even faster in the anime lol

He did pretty good ngl, i feel like this show is definitely taking a serious route rather than the more comedic east blue saga which i do miss but it’s probably to appeal to non-op fans but again i think his performance fit the vibe of the show. Also, i don’t like the look of Shanks’ crew i’m sorry like they look so rough and uncool to me compared to the anime 😭

There's not really one, they've talked about doing 6-12 seasons but that's just talking stage. Matt Owens did talk about wanting to reach Ennies Lobby if I'm not misremembering, so perhaps that.
